Bills/ Bengals [cancelled - process in OP]

In case anyone needs it spelled out, we would play at a neutral site if the AFCCG ends up being Chiefs vs. Bills. All other scenarios abide by the usual rules (so any other game the Chiefs play will be at home).

Breaking News: Of course the game is secondary to #DamarHamlin’s health, but #Bills insider @viccarucci just reported on @wgrz Daybreak that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will make the call on rescheduling the Bills/Bengals game and it would have to be played within 2 days.

After speaking with both teams and NFLPA leadership, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell informed the clubs today that the Bills-Bengals game will not be resumed this week.

The NFL has made no decision regarding the possible resumption of the game at a later date.

Screws the fans having games played at a neutral site. They're going to have to spend a lot more money to travel to watch their team when it should have been a home game. It's just a bunch of contrived bullshit by the league and it doesn't make it any more fair. It's favoritism plain and simple.

Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn is on the competition committee, which approved the scenarios Thursday. In a memo obtained by ESPN's Seth Wickersham, Blackburn urged the committee members to vote against the scenarios. Her reasoning stemmed from the timing of a rule change away from the standard of winning percentages used in this scenario.

"The proper process for making rule change (sic) is in the off-season," Blackburn wrote. "It is not appropriate to put teams in a position to vote for something that may introduce bias, favor one team over another or impact their own situation when the vote takes place immediately before the playoffs."

This is what I’m hoping for. I’m so glad that Hamlin is making such amazing progress and looks to be taking his first steps on the road to recovery. As a lifelong Chiefs fan, however, I also hope that the Bills flame out in spectacular fashion and don’t see the Divisional round, let alone the Championship.

What it's led to: for the Chiefs, a win against the 6-10 Raiders on Saturday is now the same as a *playoff victory*

And if the Chiefs beating the Raiders happens — only the Bills (who would have to win Wk18 and 2 playoff games) could force a neutral AFC title site.
