Coburn absolutely had more upside than Peniserson. And was in the 1st year of his rookie contract. Had potential to work in our rotation quite a bit. I'll bet Peniserson isn't even on the team next year.

The knocks on him coming out were short arms, inconsistency and a questionable motor. Maybe they saw all those things and thought nah, but how in God's name they thought he was a worse prospect than Dickerson, Nnadi and Wharton is baffling. Young, cheap and high upside vs proven s*** from that group. I liked Farrell too but it's not like he showed such immense potential that we couldn't do with another lottery ticket. Guessing it's a combination of expecting Omenihu inside a lot, Farrell to be the developmental guy rotating in and then Nnadi and the others as "vets". Also guessing they were expecting him back and got too clever. F*** the Broncos for sniffing around our farts, makes sense given they ain't sniffing the playoffs.

We have arguably the best D Line coach in the NFL in Joe Cullen. I find it hard to believe Bert would waive Coburn without having any input from Cullen. The guy was a 6th round pick for a reason.

I get it. He's in Broncos purgatory now so good chance he never gets close to whatever his ceiling was anyway. But man, I hate seeing Nnadi and Dickerson. Just horrible, worthless players.

Eh, I think it was widely understood that we were hoping to sneak him on the practice squad. Meanwhile, the Broncos obviously saw it as an opportunity to get some intel out of him and discarded him when they were done.
