Lamar hasn't played the last two seasons and as much as people want to pin all these losses on Lamar, you truly need to go back and look at the games.

That first game in 2018 he was thrown into the mix after playing on the scout team and then taking over for Joe Flacco mid season after he had a back injury. If it wasn't for that injury, the ravens don't even make the playoffs.

2019 - hit a Titans team when we just had some injuries. Andrews playing with a calf injury, Ingram playing with injury and no, I'm not blaming it on injuries, but the game came down to a bunch of drops with well placed balls that could have been touchdowns.

2020 - he was injured in the 3rd quarter - concussion had to leave the game

2021 - injured didn't play last month

2022 - injured did't play last month

Four of his five wins are in the wild card. Lamar skips over the wild card half the time.

These hypothetical are ridiculous in the first place.
Josh Allen has more TD passes, passing yards, total wins and playoff wins as a starting QB compared to Lamar.

Skips the wild card to choke in the Divisional Round?

I'd say they'd definitely rather have the more durable QB, if you asked the Ravens GM about a potential JOsh Allen trade.

To me, you see it - if you can protect your QB, there's plenty of opportunities to exploit that back end. Humphrey didn't look good in that game and he isn't healthy now. The safeties and linebackers can definitely get mixed up passing things off out of condensed/bunch alignments.

On a wet field, rushing the passer is going to be more difficult. Covering receivers is more difficult. Defense is going to be more difficult.

If we are neutralizing the defenses to a degree with the field conditions, to me that does play more into the Chiefs favor because they have the superior passer who is more likely to win if this does become a shootout.
Except you don't have Puka Nukua and Cooper Kupp.

But the Ravens have Gus Edwards and Patrick Ricard. So they clearly built an offense around Lamar and couldn't possibly move him for a guy who's been better by every meaningful measure.

I mean, they CAN'T move on from Patrick Ricard...

You live in a really small world if you think the Ravens/Steelers rivalry is the best in the NFL...because it probably wouldn't crack the Top 10...

Chiefs/Raiders
Dallas/Giants
Dallas/Eagles
Chiefs/Broncos
Chiefs/Bills
Dallas/Washington

Probably many more that would be considered a real rivalry.....you know, where there is always bad blood no matter what the records?

Hope that clears it up.

This whole thing is about convincing another message board that the Ravens are a *historically great* team before they've accomplished anything significant.... if you think that means regular season success and beating a rookie QB 10 win team at home in the playoffs, then certainly don't let us stop you from microwaving that lunch of yours.

Us asking you to look at our definition of "historically great" and you coming up with nothing again doesn't mean the goalposts are moving on our end, it's just how we define greatness.

Maybe your own goalposts will move over time if the Ravens don't win another SB, or maybe you'll forever be happy with just being in the playoff conversation... doesn't matter much to us, but that doesn't mean we're going to lower our bar of what success means to the Chiefs franchise to make you feel better about your own.

I understand what you're saying, but the postseason success stands on its own. You can compare the Ravens' playoff wins, AFCCG appearances, and SBs to franchises with much longer histories--which should bias it in favor of the older franchises--and the Ravens come out ahead of multiple of those teams combined in absolute terms.

Only on Planet Chiefs is playing 2 defenses that are missing their entire LB core amongst other injuries are the Chiefs playing progressively better defenses.

You are highlighting another reason Josh Allen is superior to Lamar… durability/availability.

My man listed his team in three of the top six rivalries. And then Dallas in the other three. Including one between the Cowboys and the corpse of the Redskins. Literally just posting division matchups without mentioning the AFC North, which is the peak of division matchups. Go off, king.

There are two rivalries the networks even bother to feature in their coverage of games: Ravens/Steelers and Bears/Packers. And the latter is more of a relic of history than a rivalry.
