Anyone been to a Chiefs/Raiders game in Oakland before?

I'm going on the 21st of October. A lady I work with has season tickets and is giving them to me for free. Any tips? Bulletproof vests....helmets....

I went to the LA coliseum back in '91. Out of my two friends, he had on chiefs gear(along with me) and she had on raiders gear(she was smokin hot too) We didn't have too much problem, except when I went to the john by my self, got a little tense there, but all in all, if ya dont' get too drunk and taunt any when the Chiefs make a play you will probably be OK.
Again that was LA not Oakland, but if ya keep it down the cheerin when they blow it( and they are the raiders so they WILL blow it) I think you'll be fine.

Been there many times with friends that are Raiders fans. Didn't wear colors, well not openly, but they know soon enough which team you are cheering for. Never had any problems except for a few comments. Every stadium has its usual amount of drunk and drugged A-holes, they just have more lowlifes in Oakland.

Funny story...remember the 1997 MNF game when Grbac hit Rison for the winning TD in the wanning moments? That stadium was rocking until Rison caught the TD....then dead silence, except for me jumping up, pumping my fist in the air and yelling at the top of my lungs. It would have made a great NFL Sunday Ticket commercial. LOL! I thought I would get a knife in my back. When I turned around, I never saw so many angry faces looking at one guy.

I haven't been there, but a bud of mine went, wore his chiefs gear, and said there were verbal insults, but most were in jest. He said as long as you dont sit there hootin and hollerin about the crappy faders, you are fine. He said he wanted to laugh at how they make the "black hole" seem so badass, then there are a bunch of short tubbies there in evil outfits.
Tell that to the chiefs fan i seen get carried out on a stretcher. I guess it all depends on who your around. Luck of the draw.

I tell ya one thing though. I was there in 98 when Grbac through that TD at the end of the game to Andre Rison. I was the only ****er cheering in that stadium, it was dead quiet. lol

Went to the last game in LA (X-Mas Eve 1994). Happened to be Joe Montana's last regular season game as well. I walked in wearing red head-to-toe with my ex and two buddies wearing silver and black. As soon as we walked in the gates, the morons strated chanting crap. Then they started lighting beer cups on fire and tossing them from the walkways above. My buddies tried to relax the situation to no avail.

This little ol' lady walks through threw the crowd, grabs me and escorts me aside. She proceeds to beg me to take of my stuff to avoid riots. I go into the restroom and take all the garb off and watch the game in neutral colors.

Turns out we won, made the playoffs, and eliminated the Faiders at the same time. But everytime I tried to stand up and cheer, beers, hot dogs, nachos, etc. were flying. Great game, but not a good time...

Been to a lot of road games since (Arizona x2, Seattle, Cleveland, SF, SD x20) and had a great time with all of the home fans. Alot of banter back and fourth, but all in good fun. Raider fans aren't football fans, they're just plain ol' idiots looking to start something.

However, I'm trying again this year as it turns out. Maybe Oakland will be different? I'll be wearing a blue jeans and a green shirt most likely. I'd probably recommend the same to any other Chief Faithful...

Good luck!

Oh don't get me wrong. I'm going there in neutral colors. I'll probably be there in a hoodie and some shorts. I'm going with my Dad and brother....a Redskins fan and a non-commital. I'll probably just pay attetion to the game and not talk any crap.

Thank God for full medical coverage.

Wear neutral colors. Don't cheer for Chiefs. Carry some sort of mase or pocket knife. Avoid eye contact with opposing fans. If you take a camera take picture of the people around you cause you might need it to name out suspects for battery charges. Shame the team isn't this harmless.

Black t-shirt over the top of a Chiefs tank. Everytime one of the Raider fans yells, "We suck!", join in with zeal. Maybe even lead the cheer.
