The OC is always the initial scapegoat because it's the ultimate armchair QB reaction. When people sit there they can always say "Why did you run that play?"
That's why OC's are usually among the first ones fired when things go sour, because it appeases the fans for a time.
The best OC couldn't make any more out of this turdfest than Gailey will. Croyle isn't good, there's never been any reason or evidence to think otherwise- in college or the NFL. The whole drafting of Croyle as your QBOTF was a sham and a joke.
