And when you don't have any strengths, you take the most talented player at an impact position.

I wanted Orakpo and feel he or Crabtree would have drastically upgraded our team. DRASTICALLY I still cant fathom how much this board hated Orakpo, before I showed up here I thought he would be the consensus favorite of the board. I wish I would have spoken up about him more, but I was kinda intimidated because of the consensus hatred for him here and was still (and kinda am to some here) an outsider. speed production strength size intensity What was the "selling case" of why the hatred ran so deep for him? Had to be more than "because he was from Texas and he sucks" Oh well... |

The fact is that Orapko plays on a pretty good defense with a decent push up front. He may or may not continue at this pace but to date, he's been a very solid pass rusher. |

Guys like DJ, Mike Williams, Limas Sweed, VY (until 7 games in this season), etc. haven't exactly set the league on fire. |

I dont understand the hatred for Vince Young either. That kid has taken his team on his back twice and ran them into the playoffs (if they make it this year.) He has single-handedly taken over games with his athleticism and is growing as all young qbs do. His ability to be elusive late in games has won many games that wouldnt have been wins otherwise.

![]() The distrust stems from the fact that he has a textbook throwing motion and impeccable mechanics. |

I wouldn't go that far. But he had a very weird delivery in college. He had a severe mental breakdown that led him sit on the bench last season, while Kerry Collins QB'd the team for a 14-2 record. He's looked very impressive the past 7 weeks but that's all it is: 7 weeks out of nearly four seasons. If the Chiefs had drafted him (which they wouldn't have because the earth would cease to exist if the Chiefs drafted a QB in the first round), he'd have been cut after year three. |

Just because the media was determined to make him the greatest thing ever, doesn't mean he was. The defense that year was responsible for a ridiculous number of points, and we're reason 1 why that team made the playoffs. I vague remember a game where VY had thrown for under 100 yards, and a few INT's - and Tennessee won the game because they had 2-3 defensive TD's and/or a ST touchdown. |

No, you're not. You're saying build to the strength of only your current QB.

Give the most important position on the offense the best and most versatile weapons available. That includes a WR with speed. One who could also return kicks would be a great asset at the moment. We have a big slow possession WR already in Bowe. Compliment that with other skills... like speeeeeed....

They could make plays to suit the strengths of both. Just because a guy is fast doesn't mean Cassel can't hit him on a crossing route. Then if a big arm QB comes in they could be a deep threat. I don't believe you take the slower guy just because Cassel can't throw downfield.
