It certainly helped. Pats had no film on him, probably underestimated him, bit of a trap game being at home and knowing Rodgers was out and they'd just secured a playoff spot, plus the Pats defense--while playing well in recent weeks--still isn't the '85 Bears. But, having said all that, you have to give the kid his props. He played an excellent game, given the circumstances, for around 58 minutes. (Not that I blame the horrid time management at the end solely on him; his coaches have to know, being a rookie, that he needs to be told exactly what to do in that situation.)
