Talk about the players, coaches, etc. is fine as long as all thoughts are positive, right? If you express doubts about anything at all, you're a bad fan, right? Especially if those doubts are about Alex Smith. No matter if the doubts are expressed and explained based on historical performance.

You know the moment I grew up (as a sports fan)? When I picked one team to follow in each sport and stuck with it. Maybe you should try it. It feels pretty good.
