This isn't an easy thing to do. I know it's in vogue to bash Curl--I'm as guilty of this as anyone--but if it were simple, even he'd have been able to accomplish it. |

I have never seen QB coach more glorified or demonized in the case of Dick Curl as on this board. It's absurd. People act like Dick Curl ruined the team, it is hilarious. |

I've not went on record claiming as Thigpen as our QBOTF.
But, personally I like the kid because he exceeded everyone's expectations. I think most of us can agree with that. Some of that can be attributed to Gailey's gimmicky offense. But, after watching the Atl game I had no hope so whatsoever. He proved me otherwise. |

Why can't we start Thigpen and let Stafford/Sanchez sit? If they beat him in TC, cool. If not, letting Thigpen start doesn't seem like it can hurt the team (unlike starting Huard and not finding out Croyle was "delicate", damn you Carl!). Maybe we'll get lucky and Thigpen will learn/play himself in to a fat trade in a year or two and "the other dude" can lead us to bigger and better things. Or we Brett Farve the new dude and ride Thigpen to glory.

The spread accomplished two things: 1. It covered up a pretty bad O-Line 1a. It gave Thigpen a better view of the field.
The spread has benefits, and I believe it will continue to grow due to the NFL tying the hands of the D-Backs ehhh, behind their back. The way PI and illegal contact are called is going to contribute to the spread becoming more wide-spread (no pun intended ![]() When it comes to putting games away and the red zone, the spread shows it's weaknesses, though. Thigpen will get his shot, so don't worry. |

If you're a big fan of the spread check this out...
http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=202128 "This is America, so we love to see the ball fly all over the place. But if you are going to make a living in the National Football League, you can't do it in the spread or shotgun formation, throwing the ball for 60 plays a game," Terry Robiskie said. "In the NFL, if you repeatedly leave those two tackles open, they are going to get beat. You can say it's a quick offense, and the ball is going to come out quick. That's accurate. But just as the ball comes out, that $80 million quarterback is going to get hit in his mouth and hit often. That's just the history of this game. "On this level there are too many Jason Taylors and Bruce Smiths in this world, and they will be better than your best tackle." |

The closest he came was 54. Aside from that game he never had more than 38 in any one contest. And I'm not arguing FOR the Chiefs staying with the Spread. I'm just saying.
