Herb Taylor is not bad
I've heard he has had a pretty good camp thus far.

And I watched the preseason game against the Bears, and he did well. What are your thoughts?

I think he is pretty solid.

I actually think Taylor is a pure OT prospect. You don't get a lot of OL on your team with his agility. It's his run-blocking that could use some improvement. To me, I think he's a solid RTotF. You don't slide athleticism like that inside.

Richardson seems to be the opposite. Richardson is a monstrous road-paver, but could use better work on his agility. To me, he seems a prime suspect to move inside, especially on this Chiefs team that's incredibly shallow at G.

That said, I don't think Taylor is faring wonderfully at LT, but he could do as a backup this year. I don't think he has the athleticism to keep up with the fastest DEs and OLBs in the league. The reason he didn't give up a sack had more to do with Gailey's playcalling against the Bears (lots of misdirection and rollouts, which negates poor OL play) than his own talents.

Nevertheless, I'm loving this guy. I can't believe a late-round OL may actually work out for us.

I think right RG is the perfect spot for him.He has good feet and has the speed and agility to get to the second level. as for tackle i think he has the ability to play it at this level but with his height he is struggling with swim moves from taller de's.

RG seems to be a decent spot to look at Richardson to me, until he gets developed for OT.

He's a solid run blocker and struggling in space with pass blocking.

I would like to see Stallings, Taylor, or Richardson lining up on the right side... Two of those three starting. It will likely happen by the end of the year though, we all know the injurys will come to Kansas City.

I'm not sold on Richardson as a right tackle. I question his feet and I question his work ethic to put in the work to improve as he should. While scouts are not perfect, when a left tackle for a competitive football program falls to the 6th round, that's a pretty clear sign that scouts have significant doubts about the kid. I do think he'll be a great insurance policy and I'm intrigued at the idea of moving him to guard.

I still am sold on Adrian Jones, even though I know I'm alone. In a zone blocking scheme, you want a guy who can move their feet moreso than a mauler, and Jones' feet were obiviously good enough at one point to earn him a spot at left tackle. His mistakes right now seem to be that he's uncertain and he's thinking too much, which is making him slow to react. Keep in mind that he's completely changing his position, so that's expected. Wait for Jones to get a little more comfortable with playing the position before we judge him.

As for Taylor, I"m also a huge fan. I think he's going to play Left Tackle for the Chiefs until the Chiefs are convinced that Branden Albert is the answer. I mean... really convinced. They really, really like Albert's potential, but if he doesn't pan out, then they can use Taylor as a stopgap. I hope that by midseason, the Chiefs start looking into how they can use him elsewhere on the line because I think he's too good to sit. I think he'd make an outstanding right tackle. He may not be big, but he really knows how to get leverage with his body.
