Confronting a cheater

Haven't been here in awhile, so check this out. Guess this could be related to the cheaters thread, but oh well. I had been seeing this woman for about 3 years. Everything was great, we got along, amazing sex, etc. But during this whole time, I live in Wichita, she in Newton, a 30 minute drive. She always had to visit me at my house because she lived with her ex. They had never been married, just dated for 9 years. Long story short, I saw the end coming, she was pulling away, as she had done before a few years ago, so I found where she lived and told her supposed ex the whole story of me and his woman. Oh yeah, they were very much together, he said. But he was a big puss and didn't get mad or anything. But needless to say, she got hysterical, said she hated me, i ruined her life, etc. I knew all this was going to happen anyway, but I just couldn't let her get away with her doing the whole player thing. So basically, what is your opinion on confronting the cheaters significant other?

Maybe I'm not mature enough to appreciate the same woman for the rest of my life. I still wanna party too much to be stuck with the same girl, even if she was fun to be around and hot.

I don't need to. I'm not the type of guy girls really talk to. I think I should start working out or something. :-)

I'm one. No desire to try the dating shit ever again. God forbid that I ever have to deal with that crap. My wife is the shit.

There, now you've met someone.

If you like psychology and enjoy torturing yourself over what you think women want, then yes.

I find it hard to believe, but I believe you nonetheless.

I was agreeing with you. I was married, and it did, in fact, suck. I don't know why I even did it in the first place, and I don't ever plan to do it again.

That doesn't mean relationships suck, however. I'm gonna be alone, sure, but I'm somebody who can handle it and I understand that it's the result of things I've done and decisions I've made. I'm not the most romantic guy in the world, but I think sometimes people get lucky, and find a pairing that works, instead of settling for whatever they can find. There's too much of that, I think. Settling. But that's a whole 'nother story.

I think I act like Evan from Superbad, or J.D. from Scrubs (minus the doctor thing).

I hear you on that. In all honesty, until my wife, I was a guy who could never keep his dick in his pants. I was faithless on just about every girl I dated, and I absolutely loved nothing more than getting some strange. After a month or so, the new would wear off, and I'd be in pursuit of the next piece of tail. Then, my wife came along. It was a great confluence of factors: she's awesome and challenging and completely won my respect, and I was sick of playing the field in meaningless relationships.

I'm not going to kid myself. If I'd met my wife when I was 20 or even 24, we probably wouldn't have ever gotten married, because I wasn't ready for a true commitment, regardless of how awesome the woman was. At some point, it may just click for you. Hopefully when it does, you're with the right woman.

YEAH! I got a lot of plans going on, and unless the chick is gonna be helping me out (or at least not getting in my way), then I'm cool with it. Likewise, I'll help her out in pursuing her dreams.

But if I'm gonna go to law school, and she's all like, "Lets have a baby!" then HELL no. Babies are only cool when you can give them back to their mom or dad when they start getting fussy.

Ahh, the metamorphosis from "you want to put that where" to "ow, that hurts" to "omg, I love this".
