Danny Parkins-‏Hearing a couple of very interesting pieces of potential Chiefs news

Danny Parkins ‏@DannyParkins 2m

I'm hearing Dexter McCluster is unhappy he's not on the return team. #Chiefs looking at all options, including trade.

I wonder what kind of production guys like Moeaki and Dexter would get if they played with good quarterbacks in pass happy schemes.

If Dex was a third or fourth rounder and we didn't trade up to take Moeaki, these two players perceptions would be completely different, IMO.

And before anyone fires a "Iowa homer" bullet, go back to the 2010 CP mock draft and notice that I drafted Moeaki with a 5th round comp pick for Atlanta...which would have been a fantastic selection.

Reason I brought up Orton is it was the first time I saw a QB create space for an underneath guy. Daboll's cluster **** offense, the entire short middle was jam-packed.
The reason for that stems not from the route designs and/or concepts. Rather, it's caused by QB play and a playcalling philosophy based on gameplanning that was not creative and rather predictable. We ran very similar concepts (if not the exact same plays) on a majority of repeated scenarios without creativity in regards to personnel or providing variation through D&D.

I disagree with your take and I conclude that you were watching the game through teary eyes. Eyes that must've had jalapeno juice squirted in them by a middle eastern midget name Smale E Babba.

Middle Eastern midgets? Are they like ROUSes? Rodents of unusual size?

I don't believe they exist.

I talked to Coach Reid tonight. He said McCluster is fine. The Front Office is bringing in Miley Cyrus & Lacey Pearl Earps to tutor Dex with his ... playbook. All's good.

Fair point. I just think McCluster and Wylie have the upside for bigger play potential YAC than Hemmingway. Being much smaller and lower to the ground, I just think they're better built for open field running.

Kendrick Lewis was a 5th rounder and the perception is the same.

There are literally hundreds of players that you can say "if the were only in a different scheme, differ team etc". It happens and it's the life of the NFL.

However, with dexter I don't think it would matter what scheme he's in, he's never going to be the weapon some think he will be, he's just not talented enough.

And Tony Mo would still be a walking injury...

Yes. Mcclusters fumbleitis is a big problem. And I've said before, he has to develop as a slot receiver or bust. I'm talking about what these guys can do once the ball gets into their hands.

Why do people believe that all McCluster needs is the ball in his hands? He's shown little ability to be a playmaker through the three years he's been here.

He doesn't have the skills (shiftiness, speed, or agility) to bust a big one. People see a small guy in the NFL and just automatically assume he's a playmaker. Knile Davis has shown more playmaking ability in three preseason games than McCluster has shown in three years. And I hated the Davis pick.
