ESPN has reported that the Chiefs are wanting a second day pick.

My guess is we'll be lucky to get a 5th.

disagree about chicago ..... they are in their window. They dick around too much and they will miss it. They need a QB and they need one now.

Green is a proven guy who won't screw things up ...... Chicago doesn't have a guy like that now.

a 2nd round pick is worth it for a legit chance at the next 3 super bowls.
I don't think Green has 3 years in the tank.

Anyone is a "possible" future HOF'er... LJ isn't close.

Green is a slow starter ... he typically takes 2/3 games to really get started. He also takes a quarter to get started each game.

he got hurt after 1 game .... then game back and had to restart again.

With Herm's wonderful office he never was really able to get that 1st quarter rhythm going because of our run, run, pass, punt approach.

last year was not a fair evaluation of Green

i believe we will find now that most QB's look pretty crappy when playing for the Hermanator.
It is bizarro-world.

I think maybe you're so focused on Peterson/Herm that you're not seeing Green's play for what it was last year. He played well in exactly one game, his third after the injury (Cleveland). He was awful in the two before that, he was awful in the 5 after that.

That's a half a season of bad play. It wasn't a week or two. And I don't think it was a rhythm thing. He was making bad decisions and poor throws week after week. He looked like an even worse version of himself from 2001. I'm sure that Solari was a part of that, I'm sure that the line was a part of that, I'm sure that the receivers were a part of that. I'm also, however, sure that Green himself is a part of that, and I think maybe the biggest part.

He's 37. He's even less mobile now than before, and it's only going to get worse. He's had a serious head injury. He's not the same player he was, physically or mentally. You could see it in the way he looked on the field and in the pocket. Personally, I think he's done. He looks to me a lot like Kurt Warner did when he fell off the map.

It's a shame. I think he's a great guy.

I don't see why any team trades for a 37 year old QB. This ain't Joe Montana we're talking about.

I say the same, but after reading yesterday that CP wouldn't hold up a trade by demanding too much or too high of a pick, I'm leaning more toward just the 5th round pick.

Do you realize the risk involved for Cleveland in making that trade? That's how GM's and coaches get fired, man.

maybe ..... but we nor anyone else has seen enough to make that conclusion.

to me Trent looked uncomfortable

when a QB looks like he doesn't really understand the point of the offense, they generally look like crap. Add pressure to the equation and they look like nervous crap.

Green looked like nervous crap last year

i think it's 70/30 that if Green comes back healthy and in a decent system he can throw 3,000+ yards again.

interestingly enough, i give that same 70/30 shot to Huard in the opposite direction.

A 70/30 that Huard turns back into a frog next year.

Well said. I'm 100% in agreement.

I've said previously that that concussion appeared to have aged Green 2-3 years.

I would have freaked out? Or others would have freaked out?

If you were to go back 4 years and look at the posts you would see that I was pretty unhappy to give up the 1st for Green. I wanted to sign a free-agent QB (Collins, I think) and draft McAllister. Green actually did impress me the last 4 years but he was not the same player after that concussion. I don't think it is "throwing Green under the bus" to recognize that Green did not play well after the concussion. That is a fact.

If the Chiefs get anything I'd be surprised. It just don't see much of a market for a 37 yr old QB coming off a major head injury and looked mediocre at best when he returned. You can blame Herm or the offensive line but IMO he is finished. That hit took something out of him that he might not get back.

I'd say he will end up getting cut.

I think the Chiefs have 2 5th round picks this year.

My prediction is Green and a 5th for a 4th.
