Damn. Glad she's OK.

**** dude. Glad she's OK. I bet she was petrified.

Hitting them isn't all that cool either. Injury from impact can occur. I've also heard of people getting a bad case of death from the antlers coming through the windshield.

Last year in Scott City it happened to a young guy that was recently married and his wife had just had a baby.

Optimally. You want to get the car shut down before you hit them, then comes a controlled miss. Then ditch. If you head towards the ditch, don't try to jerk it back on the road, you'll flip. Last option is the deer.

Pretty much you're ****ed either way.

I've mentioned before, driving from Manhattan, NY, to St. Louis we passed practically more deer than cars. A good twenty or so carcasses on the side of the road, another 4-5 in the road, including one we had to straddle as we came over a rise and it was lying in the middle of the lane. Not an easy feat to straddle a deer carcass in a Lotus Elise.

My insurance agent when I lived in Texas always recommended hitting the deer.

You hit the deer and damage your car . . . act of God (you had no control over the deer's actions) - No raise in your rates.

You swerve to miss the deer and wind up hitting the guardrail and damage your car . . . failure to maintain control of your vehicle - Raise in rates.

My daughter hit a deer last Super Bowl nite .. it totaled the front-end of her car .. just having libality on it im out the costs of fixing the car .. I know u'll say you should have more insurance on her car .. but it is a 94 chevy .. it had low milage but not really worthly of full coverage .. that said, I think the State should have libality insurance on their deer .. thru hunting licences and motor vechile tagging that would cover the costs of deer accidents .. BOOG ....
