Pre-Camp Optimism Poll

Will camp getting ready to kick-off I'm interested in how the optimism meter is running around here. So assuming no major injuries what will be Chiefs record be in 2013?

1. 0-4
2. 5-7
3. 8
4. 9
5. 10
6. 11
7. 12-16

I'm going with 10.

4 of the first seven we win....OAK, Jax, Ten should be wins and then we find 1 win from NYG, Dal, Phi, & Hou
The next 9, 6 should be victories, but I'm assuming we stumble on 1 of those so another 5 victories. (Browns, Bill, Raiders, 2x Chargers, Colts).
I think we can split with the Donkies, but lose to Redskins, which makes 10 wins.

There's no reason a team with the talent the Chiefs have shouldn't win more than 8-9 games. Especially with the coaching boost we should be expecting.

How is it not a rebuild? They've turned over 1/2 the team before camp.
We have some talented pieces but no proof yet that those pieces equal wins.
I allow myself to be a kool aide drinking homer during the off season until the games start which is why I said 9. Going 8-8 or 9-7 while purging the suckage of the last regime would be a good job in my book.

honestly anywhere from 8-11 wins, we have the talent to win now, we were severely missing the coaching and we got that, now if we get the alex smith of the last 2 years we should win 10-11 wins, if we dont get that alex smith we prolly going to win 8 games or less

You realize EVERY team can make that claim? Its a 90 player roster so every team brings in 30-50 new players each offseason.

And talented pieces should equal wins. It would be stupid as hell to trade two second round picks for a 29 year old quarterback if you're not going to try to win now.

When an organization makes win-now moves, it seems fair to expect them to...wait for it...

10 - 6 season, we pull a wild card and lose in the first round.

They should win 8-10. I think last year was an aberration, in that they were a 6ish win team that only won 2 due to some freakish turnover numbers, so improving by 2-4 games isn't really that much.

Lest that be taken as more optimism than I actually feel, I still think that they're still just an average team overall, just one of the mass of teams that fall between 6-10 and 10-6 every year.

9-7 with an outside shot at 10-6, if the donx continue to implode those 9 wins may well be enough for a trip to the dance.

I am optimistic that this year will not be as bad as last year but that is what I said last year and last year was their worst year ever.

It is easy to look at the chiefs by what they have done in the past. I think if you follow the moves they have made- they will be a bigger more physical team then what we have seen in years. Davis and Charles will be dominating on the ground and Alex will be the best QB we have had since Green- providing real leadership.

With 3 all pro LB's and a revamped secondary- our D will be very tough to beat.

Sticking with 11-5!
