FTR, dumbasses can be found everywhere, and some of you might find it surprising, but the All Knowing, All Powerful Gaz is one of them.

But my plan [such as it is] would be to start Thigpen, barring a tremendous showing by one of the FA QBs or a stunningly dismal preformance by Thigpen.

Although our pass rush was truly dismal [bringing more that a few tears to my eyes], I do not consider any of the DEs worthy of the #3 pick. That's how it is for Chiefs fans, ennit? The Draft is loaded when we do not need a specific position & thin when we do. Or it IS loaded with talent & we take Todd Blackledge. Gah!

Sadly, the same is true for the Offensive Line. Our OL was better than the DL, but still way below what is required to succeed on the NFL. Still, this draft does not have an OLineman worthy of #3. We will have to augment both the OL & DL from later Rounds & FA.

That brings me to WR & LB. While it seems obvious [at least to me] that LB is considerably more needy than WR, the thought of Crabtree is intriguing.

Another valid possibility is Curry. We are in desperate need of LB help & I think that Curry is worth the #3 pick. Of course, the actual Defensive scheme for 2009 has not been set [since we do not yet have a DC], Curry can play in a 4-3 or 3-4 Defense.

As of now, I would favor Crabtree or Curry [with the dedicated Defense Homer in me leaning toward Curry]. That opinion [of course] will vacillate & waver as more information comes in.

Given the current state of our team, it is a bit sad to realize that we are still going to be a bad team for a couple of years. Too many holes, not enough fingers...

Awesome Gaz post. Although I don't agree about the QB part, at least he gives a well thought out, reasonable argument. I wish he would post more often.

I'm just glad to see a good number of people realize what Thigpen is, there was a time when it seemed that saying he wasn't the guy was the minority.

In some ways I still think that we are the minority.

It's just that we've effectively chastised the True Fans into silent disagreement.

You know, I'll bet that if Thiggy had a really good QB coach and adequate time to work on his skills and shortcomings, he might develop into something. He has the mentality to be a good quarterback.

People thought that about every talented spead QB that a 1st round pick was spent on....history says spread QB's will fail at supremely high rate.

Which is why it's baffling to me that people think next year's QB class is a good one, and that we should wait.

You have Jevan Snead and a bunch of spread monkeys, as you like to call them.

The fact that anyone and I mean anyone thinks Jevan Snead is more than an ok NFL prospect blows my mind.

It would be like someone going "yo man Jake Locker we should get him"

Agreed, though he is the only decent prospect that runs a pro-style offense.

Next year's class is beyond bad, unless you want to waste 3 years teaching these guys how to take drops and read defenses.

I really don't understand why this fan base thinks so well of Gailey...he was a failure in both his head coaching stints...

The Chiefs had a horrendously predictable offense where that was run run run or pass pass pass they never adjusted and got reamed in the 2nd halves of games.

You know, I just thought of something. Clark Hunt has a lot of money so he could afford to buy or build a nightclub. Then, he could name it "The Clark Bar".
