I don't think Haley and Pioli are as short sighted as you. If this season isn't an overwhelming success, it's not the end of the world. You think Haley, Pioli, and Zorn don't all agree 100% that it's best to let Stanzi sit the year and groom him? Especially knowing what this organization thinks of Ricky, and what Zorn had to say about his in training camp. Normally I would pass Zorn's words off as fluff, but knowing what the entire organization thinks of the guy, I don't think so.

If Cassel could shout a cadence and hard count like Rodgers, he might know where that blitz is coming from.

IMO this year is his only shot to be seen. Barring something that would indicate that Stanzi is the QBotF, we have to draft a QB early this year. If that happens we would be looking to bring the new QB on more than we would be looking to develop Stanzi. I'm not sure either option brings a few more wins. This team as it currently sits could not beat any of the teams remaining on the schedule except Denver and Oakland.

Those people were right. The guy that was starting at the time was not an NFL starter.

This is a good point, but this doesn't happen in the NFL anymore! Nobody develops players anymore. They just toss them into the fire and hope for the best! If lightning doesn't strike, they bench him, trade him, and move on to the next guy!

It's so stupid, but that's how it's done.

It seems all Cassel does is point out the Mike backer. Don't see him move his line around very much.

Have you watched his highlight reel at the top. I know it was against college (which is something our former qb didn't eve rhave to do) but he does seem to have all the physical tools.
