The Jones contract does not look so great these days. KC will be in better financial shape when both Jones & Clark are gone.

I'm personally hoping the loss of Tyreek will force Mahomes to look for other receivers. He doesn't have a choice now. Hopefully he will embrace the idea of spreading the ball around to a lot of different people. This approach has potential to create way more balance in the offense.

His net worth right now is $47 million from football and $7 million per year from endorsements. He’s way over the mark for any QB 5 years into their career.

And it’s only gonna get better. He’s gonna make $36 million this year. So his net worth will be around $90 million at age 27.

He's doing just fine of course. I guess we have our answer on what Kyler Murray or Deshaun Watson or Dak Prescott, Aaron Rodgers, etc. would have done if they were in Mahomes' position right after winning MVP and Super Bowl. They would have squeezed their team for a heck of a lot more guaranteed cash on a per-year basis. Patrick settled for only $14 million per year guaranteed. That is one heck of a sweetheart deal for the KC front office.

Do you realize that Mahomes has a rolling 2-year guarantee on his entire contract?

90 million minimum for the current season and the one after.

It is a pretty sweet deal. These other teams are Never going to win a championship paying these scrub loser QB's that kind of money. Chiefs have total flexibility for the entire 10 years.

It's $141 million guaranteed for injury, which is basically just the money until the end of 2024. If he has a major injury that kills his career, KC will be able to get out of it. If he consistently plays as poorly as he did in the 2nd half of that playoff game against the Bengals, KC will likely be able to get out of it pretty easily in that scenario as well. I don't think they are stuck with him by any means.

Mahomes was in a position to demand a lot more guaranteed cash for himself while committing himself to a 10 year deal. The Mahomes deal is pretty much the biggest sweetheart deal imaginable when a guy with a billion miles of baggage (Deshaun) got $230 million guaranteed for only 5 years. Or this latest example with Kyler Murray getting $160M guaranteed for only 5 years. And those numbers will just keep blowing up every year.

Mahomes is guaranteed 2 seasons every year. It is a "rolling" guarantee.

The minute the season starts- this year and next year will be Fully guaranteed. Next season- will be that one and the following.

The highlighted part is just ridiculous. The entire team played poorly. Chiefs will be "stuck" with him until he retires-lol
