Geno Smith vs Alex Smith - It's on.

It's on now. Geno Smith is probably going to be starting for the Jets this season.

Alex Smith will be the Chiefs QB for the forseeable future. If he's a success, we'll probably get five good years out of him.

So who's gonna win more NFL games over that time period?

Put your ten pounders on the table and make a vote

Alex: 11 wins
Geno: 8 wins

The Raiders didn't have problems trading down from 3...

I'd have loved to have added a second round pick and taken Richardson at 12.

Players available at 12...

Sheldon Richardson
Tyler Eifert
Star Lotuieiououuoi
Eric Reid
Kyle Long
Kenny Vaccaro
EJ Manuel
Geno Smith
Cordarelle Patterson

I don't want to hear the excuses.

There were plenty of options that were ignored to take Fisher and he needs to start living up to the pick because of it.

It still would have been nice to grab someone like Jordan or Mingo at that #1 spot to help spell Hali.

How about Sheldon Richardson to play in front of him to add to the pass rush while adding a second round pick?

Yeah....he would've worked as well. Anybody but a RT that's repeatedly getting blown off the LOS.

I must admit I didn't like your chances on this one, Clay. You have obviously been proven right on Geno. Very impressive.

Crowing your genious on CP does nothing to right the listing ship that is the Chiefs organization. Seize this opportunity to claim your place in Chiefs' history.

Take your message to the sky over the stadium. Banners? pfffft. So last year.

SKYWRITING.

Obvious messages are "Shoulda drafted Geno" "We deserve Geno" "Trade for Geno". I'm sure there are many other messages to send.

I mean a couple of measley banners got Pioli and Crennel fired and Cassel cut. Just pretend what some modern day smoke signals would do.

I'd throw some cash into that one.

Richardson next to Poe....!@#$ me, that would be disgusting.

With Hali/Houston off the edges and w/ DJ's ability in space, you may really be looking at the best defense in the league there, perhaps since the '06 Ravens defense.

Fisher has to turn it up immediately.

But ultimately, your premise is flawed - nobody was giving up picks to move up in this draft. You can argue we should've taken Richardson at #1 overall, but there's no sense in claiming they'd have snagged a 2nd rounder as well - the market just wasn't there.

The Raiders traded down to 12 with Miami and got a second in return.

If the compensation, in terms of draft picks, was adequate then I can't see contract cost being a big difference. Shit, we were reportedly already talking to Miami about trading Albert to them around that same time, too.

Hopefully, Eric Fisher starts to get it sooner rather than later and becomes a premier player for his position. Seems like a long shot, but it's possible. Lots of work to do.

Seems like a long shot? He's a rookie. He's going to get better.

No kidding. Someone should dig around for threads about how bad Albert sucked when he was a rookie. I bet there are some around.
