Alex Smith did, does, and will always suck.

Yeah. Great point. And the Chiefs are giving up 11 points per game so far this year. Alex Smith has NOTHING to do with that. The Ball control, the lack of turnovers, always leaving the defense with the short field to play with, winning time of possession, keeping your defense fresh for the 4th quarter when other defenses are falling apart. Alex Smith, has NOTHING to do with that. Great GREAT POINT.

No you weren't. You live in a bubble. You only see things as black and white. You see, the defense is carrying the offense, but you NEVER UNDERSTAND HOW THATS POSSIBLE.

And this is why there are so many fights on this board. If every fan took that idea with every team, you could assume that the Broncos are going to choke in the playoffs, you could assume the Dolphins will never again win a super bowl, the Browns will never win anything. The fact is, no two seasons are alike, no matter HOW much you want to think they are.

The 2000-01 Ravens allowed 13.43 points per game over two seasons.

Jim McMahon and Trent Dilfer.
Very good. Now. Admit something, and I will let this drop. Where is the MAJORITY of the Chiefs talent?

is it even close to how much more talented the defensive side of the ball is, when compared to the offense?

So, it stands to reason that the Chiefs defense should be expected to carry MORE of the load of the team especially with so many injuries and inconsistencies on the offense? Lack of time to gel between offensive players, bad oline play, shoddy play calling, no running game really to speak of yet, suspect qb play, only two real receivers no tight ends?

So, that should make sense right?

You act like the process involved in getting those wins doesn't matter. It is proven that the process of an elite QB making plays is more likely to result in championships than the process of just managing games and checking down. Dilfer is the exception, not the rule.

You should probably shut up right about here. I told you over and over how much better the defense was going to be. You clowned me, neg repped me, you have me in your signature and avatar.

This is not the point in the conversation where your cock gobbler should be open, because every time you do, im gonna stick my foot in it because of how far off base you have been with everything.........

Third, he's throwing 59% with 13 TD and 7 INT over those 13 starts, with 631 yards rushing and 5 rushing TD's.

I don't think any of that equals a 13 PPG game swing.

In the 29 starts we keep referencing for Alex, you know how many times the defense gave up more than 24 points?

Three times.

Know how many times it's happened in Kap's 13 starts?

SEVEN.

You're going to blame that on 7 INT's over 13 games?
Pro Football reference shows he is 53 for 94 completing 56% this season.

Out of curiosity what do you blame the bolded part on? The defense just ironically got worse when Kap started playing?

BTW Kap is gaining a total of 6.7 yards per game more total passing yardage than Alex Smith this season.

Smith is at 223 and Kap is 229.

So Kap has 6 yards more per game for a whopping 20 more yards. He has 1 fewer TD and 4 more picks (no fumbles I looked it up).

Kap has a killer 15 yards more rushing than Alex.

All that being said, I think Kap will get better, I also think Alex will get better as the season goes on and the OL gets better.

I mean a real slide or stagnation over 3-4 weeks and the wheels just start to come off )

As is, I find it hard to disagree that the offense will need to be better in the playoffs. Such a new team coming together... why wouldn't a fan with any shred of optimism expect that the offense can grow, gel, evolve, etc. into an offense that can better assist the defense in beating playoff teams?
The offense can grow and mature and so forth, but the concern is about Alex Smith. We know it's a new system with a rookie tackle and young receivers and hopefully the play calling evolves, etc.... the 49ers had a pretty damn good defense in 2011 and still gave up 32 points to the Saints. That happens in the playoffs these days. It'll probably happen once if not twice vs the Broncos. I don't think the entire offense is up to that task yet, and there's no reason to think it should be.... but, once the offense improves, is Alex Smith up for it?

I have an awesome question for the Alex hater bunch here.

Jamaal Charles had 1500 yards rushing last year. He is looking like he is going to be lucky to break about 800 this year so far.

Now, I know that last year it was because of the stellar qb play, always having the lead, and a dominant defense because you always had the lead.

Why, if the oline isn't a problem, is the running game so inept?

The defense is good because they are good.

Not because of anything Alex does.

We are piss poor on third down.

18 teams have punted less than we have.

Alex's big contribution to those games?

A combined 28/49 (57%) for 319 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT

Oh, crap. Forgot the 2011 opener. Defense allowed 17 points. Add 15/20 for 124 yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs to those numbers.

Pittsburgh: Defense allowed 3 points.

Alex's big contribution?

18/31 (58%) for 187 and a TD.

Cincinnati? Defense allowed 8 points.

Alex's big contribution?

20/30 (66%) for 201. No scoring, no INT's.

Dallas? Defense allowed 16 points.

21/36 for 223 and 2 TD's. WOW! Finally more than 1 TD?

Oh, wait.

He played Dallas in 2011 as well. And lost.

Why?

He couldn't score more than 24 points. Under 200 yards passing, 2 TD and an INT.

That leaves the Packers and Saints, and the Saints were the 32nd ranked defense at the time.

You're not exactly helping your cause here.

It is imperative that the Chiefs figure out the run game by the time they play the Broncos. They have to keep forehead off the field to be successful. The pass game will also open up if they can get the run more consistent.

Who won the Super Bowl the last 2 years?

Brady
Peyton
Brees
Rodgers

It sure as hell wasn't an elite QB. I'm willing to bet more often than not it was an ELITE TEAM that won the Super Bow. Hell Brady's first Super Bowl was won by and elite kicker.

Nice of you to include all the information in that Dallas game. First, Crabtree didn't play at all, and Braylon Edwards left in the first quarter and didn't return, and it was a call by Jim Harbaugh, and the defense that got absolutely TORCHED all day by Tony Romo that cost the 49ers that day. Not Alex Smith.

That was actually one of alex smiths more impressive games that year.

Oh yeah, btw. Second game of the season, no real offseason with a brand new coaching staff on both sides of the ball. GREAT POINTS THERE. AWESOME POINTS.

And ill say it the same as I said with the Chiefs. Where is the majority of the 49ers TALENT, especially in 2011?

On the defense. Almost a carbon copy of the Chiefs this year.

Been saying that since fricking MARCH.

Yeah and how many points have the 9ers scored in the last 2 games? Hint their 2 recent losses, the other teams didn't need 24 points to win them either. LOL

I'm going to let the bold part go, but your awesome question was answered a long time ago.

Playcalling.

First three quarters?

Not running the ball enough, and when we do run, it's out of the pistol.

4th quarter?

Commitment to running, and doing so in running formations.

If the OL sucked, as many here claim, we wouldn't be able to run in the 4th quarter either.

Yet magically, we can.

Playcalling.
