Yeah. That's why the 49ers after the 2011 season, didn't replace the QB, but did sign Randy Moss out of retirement, sign Mario Manningham, and drafted Aj Jenkins. BECAUSE ALEX SMITH WAS THE PROBLEM.

But now that Kaepernick has Boldin, Gore, Kendall Hunter, Kyle Williams, Marlon Moore, Jon Baldwin, Vernon Davis, he has weapons issues despite having the best oline in football.

But no, Alex Smith should of put up more with Crabtree, Braylon Edwards, Josh morgan Ted Ginn, and Vernon Davis.

OutSTANDING logic.

Me! Me! ME! MEMEMEMEMEMEME!!!! LOOK HOW RIGHT I AMMMM! Alex Smith doesn't/didn't/will never make the defense better. The fact that we don't Crennel and the most conservative cast of coaches in the history of ever is what made our defense special. That, and all the high first round picks from years of our retread quarterbacks suckin dong

Why do I give a shit about 2 games?

Your defense sucks right now, and has for a while - and as much as you want to blame him, it's not because of your young QB.

That happens in the playoffs these days. It'll probably happen once if not twice vs the Broncos. I don't think the entire offense is up to that task yet, and there's no reason to think it should be.... but, once the offense improves, is Alex Smith up for it?
I can't imagine him not being up for it. This offense would have been scoring lots more points so far this year, if not for a porous OL, drops, absent TEs, stupid penalties, poor run blocks causing stuffed runs.. or simply not needing to go for the throat with the win in the bag.

As is being said though, and just like Jacksonville (though yes, Jacksonville, but still an example to point at)... if the Chiefs are kicking ass as a team by the halftime, the offense will likely and understandably take their foot off the accelerator a bit, and just look to get out of the game with the easy win.

If by December, an opponent stuns the defense with 30+ points and KC is down at halftime by 17? I will fully expect them to stomp on that accelerator and make a comeback. The offense should be in high gear by then.

I always said.. if Alex gets decent pass pro, some balance, and everyone does their job reasonably well? There's really nothing to stop him.

That was actually one of alex smiths more impressive games that year.

Oh yeah, btw. Second game of the season, no real offseason with a brand new coaching staff on both sides of the ball. GREAT POINTS THERE. AWESOME POINTS.

And ill say it the same as I said with the Chiefs. Where is the majority of the 49ers TALENT, especially in 2011?

On the defense. Almost a carbon copy of the Chiefs this year.

Been saying that since fricking MARCH.

Playcalling.

First three quarters?

4th quarter?

Commitment to running, and doing so in running formations.

If the OL sucked, as many here claim, we wouldn't be able to run in the 4th quarter either.

Yet magically, we can.

Playcalling.
Im confused. Im not sure if you are agreeing or disagreeing with me?

They called 29 play calls in the first half, DESPITE the fact that the eagles were only rushing 3 guys, and dropping 8. Which plays COMPLETELY against the theory of stacking the box to stop Charles, and make alex beat you.

Also, the tight ends were WHO? Who is your slot receiver?

At best, on Thursday, Alex Smith had 3 guys who could safely be relied on to throw to. The eagles doubled up on Bowe, and Alex Smith found Donny Avery, and had 173 yards passing in the first half. yet, I keep hearing how Alex Smith didn't do anything?

Avery had over 100 yards receiving in the first half. So, you tell ME where the problem was?

I saw the same thing you did. Again......There is a REASON that Eric Fisher is being smashed nationally.

I don't think that has to do with Alex Smith.....I could see however, how that could affect alex smith, and the run game.

Oh, and to answer your question. I believe I did.

having Sherman in front of Charles, freed up the running game. And, Eric Fisher was known more as a run blocker, than a pass blocker in college, and that's why they took him over Joeckell more or less. He was seen as to have more of a mean streak.

It's not always about the size of the numbers produced... it is WHEN they are produced. Just look at the win over Philly by KC for an example. Alex and the offense were in trouble... and Alex and the offense put together an 8+ minute drive for points to finish off the opponent. That matters. Hey, it's great if you can coast up and down the field all game and score 50... but just being able to put together a few critical drives per game can be the difference too.

Btw it would do you really good, if you learned the difference between an EXCUSE, and actually telling the facts as they were.

Your obtuse view of a situation, is AWESOME TO ME.

The games weren't over till the 4th qtr in both of those games and the defense held their own. Just like KCs defense has been doing, but unlike the 49ers the Chiefs offense came through when they had to the most.

Here's something I took from the 49ers forum...

Couple of stats for you statistical junkies.

TOP vs Seattle 24min
3/13 3rd down conversion

Offensive snap count vs Seattle - 53
Defensive snap count - 76

TOP vs Colts 23 mins
3/12 3rd down conversions

Offensive snap count vs Indy - 53
Defensive snap count vs Indy - 72

The defense is giving up 333 YPG/999 total yards which is 21st in the league. The defense is giving up 5.3 YPP. If Seattle snap counts were switched around the defense gives up 119 yards less.If Indy snap counts were switched around the defense gives up 104 less yards. Logically you can say more time equals more snaps equals more yards. So instead of 999 yard on the season we have 777 on the season which is 259 YPG. That's #3 in the league.

We controlled the clock against GB. 38min of possession and we gave up 3.2 YPC. That's a top 3 number. I believe 100% this is a top 5 defense but the lack of offense has allowed teams to run the ball/run the clock. The offense is allowing the other team to control the rhythm of the game, and this has never been a winning formula for the Niners. The offense is 29th in the league in offensive plays. 23rd in TOP. 29th in 1st downs made. 2nd in penalties. 29th in TO margin. 29th in PPG.

I welcome anyone to convince me the defense is the problem.

Take a ****ing Ritalin, and look at WTF you just typed out.

You're confused because you can't stick to one argument. You've got to make excuses for Alex regardless of the topic.
