Geno Smith vs Alex Smith - It's on.

It's on now. Geno Smith is probably going to be starting for the Jets this season.

Alex Smith will be the Chiefs QB for the forseeable future. If he's a success, we'll probably get five good years out of him.

So who's gonna win more NFL games over that time period?

Put your ten pounders on the table and make a vote

Alex: 11 wins
Geno: 8 wins

Just left the stadium. Receivers were open, Smith just doesn't let it go. His risk aversion holds him back way too much.

A former MVP brought up the point you keep denying that the WRS are just not getting open. I'm sure that you guys are so much smarter then a former NFL MVP.
Because these fans rather bitch and moan and enjoy jumping on any ball that is not perfect by their QB.

That's why you can't take Alex haters and some defenders all that seriously lol. As if it can't be both lol. Our WR's can't get open on some of these plays which was pointed out,and at the same time Alex is throwing some horrible uncatchable passes. And some of the ones he does complete he puts in a bad place where they can't get YAC. Offense sucks all around and each aspect is effecting the other.

This looks like the same exact excuse and apologist statement made for Matt Cassel circa 09-12

It cracks me up how this is always someones response when Alex outdoes Geno during any given week... like they are surprised the two are being compared when it's literally the title of the thread.

The point that eludes you is that it should be no contest.

I'd feel a ton better about our future with Geno Smith, and we could've had him for what we got Smith. Most people that hated Geno acted like he'd be a disaster. How many wins does he have?

The reason all this happened was because a minority of assholes were screaming that we should pick him at #1 overall. Obviously, that wasn't true because every team in the league rated him a 2nd round pick at least. Even the Jets passed on him twice before they eventually selected him.

It's got little to do with Geno. It's just a message board fight. A handful of people made it their life's obsession that we had to pick some QB, any QB at #1 and are still diaper-rashed that the entire league had the same judgement about Geno that their critics did.

Then Claynus and a couple of others who are pot-stirrers, self promoters, or possibly troll projects latched on to it to promote as a generic board controversy.

I don't think anybody would have balked at taking Geno Smith in the mid-2nd round or below, which was about where his value was. It's just a war between two factions who said he was worth the #1 overall or he wasn't.
