The Cleveland Browns' fire sale may yet continue as the team has reportedly made wide receiver Josh Gordon available.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Browns are willing to part with Gordon along with fellow wide receiver Greg Little:

ESPN's Adam Caplan adds that Gordon has actually been on the trade block for "several weeks":

Gordon is returning to the field in Week 3 after serving a two-game suspension at the start of the regular season, following a violation of the league's substance-abuse policy. He came into the season with some lofty expectations after his rookie year, in which he caught 50 passes for 805 yards and five touchdowns.

This news is exactly what Browns fans won't want to hear. It comes the same week as Cleveland essentially gave up on the 2013 season just two weeks into the season, first naming Brian Hoyer the starting quarterback over the banged-up Brandon Weeden and backup Jason Campbell, and then trading Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts.

For a fanbase as tortured as the Browns' it will hurt to see yet another talented offensive player be pushed out the door.

Only 22 years old, Gordon will continue to improve, and he's the kind of player a team can build a receiving corps around. The fact that Cleveland is thinking about offoading him is arguably more surprising than the Richardson trade.

However, if Cleveland is really in rebuild mode, it would make sense to cash in now on its most marketable asset and prepare for the future. The trio of Joe Banner, Michael Lombardi and Rob Chudzinski have a definite direction they're taking this team. They're not afraid to burn some bridges in the short term if it helps the long term, either.

Only time will tell if the plan works out.

Our GM says he's frugal with his picks, but has already traded 2 for a QB and I wouldn't be shocked to see him move more.

I just think Gordon would be a nice fit for SD considering the injuries they've dealt with...they're definitely in contention for the post-season and have a QB who can fling it all over the place.

But yeah, I'm just saying they'd be a good fit.

Watching his highlights on YouTube, he can definitely separate. I'd LOVE to have his talent here on the outside.
Can do a lot of damage and imagine him split out, with Bowe next to him in the Slot- oh yeah, & Charles in the the backfield- possibly being sent in motion. . .

I definitely see the other 3 teams you listed as teams that are in contention for a Super Bowl right now that need desperate help at WR.

On 1st blush it seems like a bit much, but then I remembered that he is still under his rookie contract through this season plus 2 more seasons.

Proven round 1 talent at cap friendly costs.
I don't want to entertain what he could mean for how successful this team could be and make a deep playoff run- it depresses me to think a guy who could push us over the hump may be actually available but we won't pull the trigger.

That's a pretty good deal for both sides, honestly.

I think you should try to rape New England out of their 1st rounder since Gordon's on a long-term cheap as **** contract, but the deal has good stuff in it.

Alex Smith's deep ball is not good enough for Josh Gordon. Sure Gordon would help our offense but he's not the best fit for what he would cost. Really don't think we'll trade for him.

Even if it turns out to be Bray throwing them the ball soon, we need a guy that can get natural separation in and out of breaks.

It doesn't seem like our team chemistry could be much higher, you'd have to make sure that if you were making a move, it would be someone with the right type of character. (Not that I know anything about this guy)

That being said, if the Browns unloaded Richardson, why would they balk at this?
