I thought it was a very stupid trade. Even if Sherman is playing extremely well.

I'll take good cornerback depth over a starting fullback any day. The move was saved by a great move to steal Marcus Cooper.

Doesn't matter. Arenas isn't a fit in Suttons D. His strength is zone not man. He would be no more valuable to the team than Robinson is

Fair point. But given how shallow we were at corner, let's face it. We are really, really lucky we were able to pull Cooper off. Imagine if we didn't.

I agree with that. He's been a huge blessing. IMO they would have still played press man with Brown or Parker. They were going to get a tall press type cb, project or not, and stick him out there to play how they want

Yo bump, I've been meaning to ask you. I just started a movement called cannabis for cancer. We basically spread the word about the harmful effects of chemo and radiation in hopes that people understand that weed is a cure-all. We could really use a donation from you and your $10/hour job delivering pizzas. You in, mon?

Do you remember the moves we made to replace Arenas? Agnew? A whole bunch of other scrubs? Those were panic moves from a team that realized outside of Robinson, we were really bad at corner. We ended up a hell of a lot better because of the Sherman trade. But again, let's not count out that some luck after the fact had to do with it. If not for Marcus Cooper, when Dunta Robinson got injured, Jalil Brown was going to be our nickel guy.

Arenas was traded before the preseason. We tried to replace his depth with Agnew and Kennard Cox. We were ready to walk into the season with Abdullah and Demps, two safeties, as our next depth CB. People forget that we almost walked into the regular season with really bad CB depth.
We got really lucky to find a gem in the final roster cuts.

You think Dorsey wasn't aware he'd need to sign a CB through roster cuts?

No, I don't think Dorsey traded Arenas with the thinking that maybe he can get somebody's leftover CBs in the last round of cuts.

It ended up working out really well for us. But we were going to walk into the season with really bad CB depth. Dorsey hit a grand slam by signing Cooper.
