Since I have posted in every game thread at home, I'm making my appearance now in our game thread to keep up with the trend.

I will not have access tonight at my daughters in Atlanta, wrong room with the TV.

Let's kick some butt tonight guys!

I'm just not going to allow myself to get overly invested in this game. I think be over-amped, the hype, the altitude, the NFL (and the officials) might be too ready to make this game something it isn't.

I keep reminding myself that the NFL insists that it's entertainment {so they can manipulate the outcome however their profit and ratings see fit}...

I'm up the ladder, but not far enough to break a leg when the NFL yanks the rungs out from under all Chiefs fans (again).

And if Hali and Houston (and the entire secondary) don't come out SCREAMING in the officials faces about anything and everything (tempting a flag), I might even turn it off and go to bed - I can wait until the morning to read about the rape!

Agreed.

It's good to see them struggle once in a while.

Obviously, we want to win and plan to win, but I was thinking about something.

If we have a one-game lead and confidence, then a split with Denver gives us the division. So imagine you're on the road with the league's best pass rush, going against a gimpy quarterback pushing 40 who wears a neck halo brace and is the sole talent on the opposing team. And then imagine you have a home game against Gimpy McNieck in just two weeks.

I'm not saying we should do this, and I don't think I want to do this, but I could see the following as a strategy. You just send guys on every play, go single man coverage, and hit hit hit the gimp. You go vanilla and don't show anything play-wise. You know you'll give up some plays and you might even lose, but if you beat the daylights out of this guy it'll slow him down for weeks. He's old and frail. And then in two weeks you're at home, you've got their film and they've got nothing on you, and you're facing an even gimpier and more beat-up quarterback.

Or, if your strat pays off, we don't face him at all.

I'm on board...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Interesting.

They'd have to be completely sure they were going to win the next one though. And they'd have to be sure that the plan to hobble manning works.
