Someone did this at my house when I was still living with my parents. My mom woke me to ask why I didn't tell her I had a friend on the couch.

I hauled the guy out onto the front porch and started pounding him. He got away and I didn't give chase, but I can definitely relate to beating up some drunk douche that stumbled his way into my vehicle. Being really drunk isn't an excuse.

The articles made it sound like he thought it was a friend's car from his tailgate group. ****. I drive a black Jeep Grand Cherokee and I've walked up and opened the wrong vehicle before. Since I was entering my own car, I recognized that it wasn't mine. I can understand making that mistake with a friend's vehicle.

Yeah, I get that it was a mistake. But if I find someone in my vehicle, and I'm in the right frame of mind, I'm probably going to do something that guarantees he'll never make that mistake again. It doesn't really matter if its because he's drunk, a thief, or just confused.

I know, right? Much worse than the guy who thinks its ok to drink until he loses control and common sense.

"oh hey, you're drunk? Sure go ahead and climb into my car. Maybe throw up or piss your pants while you're at it. Haha, your lack of self control is so funny and totally excuses abuse of a stranger's property."

Yea, **** assessing the situation and going from there. Beat the shit out of a drunk dude that made an honest mistake. Multiple people in this tread have told stories of them making the same mistake with their vehicles this dude made when they were sober. Add that to that to the fact that it wasn't even his car, it was his friends car that he thought he was climbing in to, and it's an easy mistake to make. But **** it, he was a sloppy drunk and deserved the shit beat out of him in your eyes. What a tool.

"hi stranger who's too drunk to know what vehicle you're in. Please calmy stand by while I determine if you're a thief or have taken a shit in my backseat. I may need to call the police on you."

I mean, **** personal responsibility.

I understand your stance. Yes, its their fault for getting so drunk that they can't even recognize a car.

But, we have an obligation, albeit not legal, to try not to harm an individual who is out of his mind if at all possible without endangering yourself. Someone who is that drunk and unarmed should be easily dealt with without violence.

I had the same thing happen to me when I was about 15-16 and the mother ****er walked in the house up the stairs and got in bed with me. It was a kid we knew and I think he was on pain meds and alchohol. I just left him in my bed and when he woke up the next day he just looked at the family and said "what the ****" then darted out of the house

Small town life....
That's crazy. My mother's side of the family lives in small towns out in a rural area so I have some experience with that. One of my best friends growing up used to leave his key in the ignition everywhere he went and didn't worry for shit.

I've only ever owned a car in a large metro area so I could never imagine leaving my car unlocked.

Somebody pointed out where my car was and that this was just some lady waiting to pick her daughter up. It was a beige Honda Prelude.

If I woke up to a drunk guy on my couch, I'd probably call a friend over and if that's not possible call the police to explain the situation but also call a cab for the poor bastard. Wake him up when both arrive to explain things can go one of two ways for the guy.

I can't imagine kicking the guy's ass would be my first course of action.
