Hopefully the change in travel partners brings a different result on the field.

And maybe, just maybe, we won't have ribs thrown at us this time.

What were your expectations for that game in 2006?

IIRC, Herm went full reerun with the offense that day, or we could have had a shot at knocking them out. The defense played tough until the end when they were completely out of gas.

Also, the Colts defense was TERRIBLE that year. Really terrible. They gave up 300 or 400 rushing yards to Jacksonville a couple weeks before... and we had Larry Johnson. All of a sudden they flipped a switch in the playoffs though.

Correct. I think they were running the 32 defense, right up until they played us in the playoffs. Carried that through the Super Bowl.

Didn't they win something like 19-8, with us picking Manning off three times?

If we were running the Vermeil/Saunders offense, and hadn't run LJ into the ground all season long, we would have easily won that game. Green's early season injury put more pressure on LJ, but Herm dismantled that offense due to his own idiotic notions.

Herm went full reerun with the offense on the day he was hired. He was complaining about Green taking too many risks with the ball before training camp. "Circus offense." Epically horrible HC hire. I was happy to go to the playoffs due to the amazing series of outcomes needed to make that happen, but the game unfolded exactly as I expected on that side of the ball.

95% of this board could out coach herm. You put 2 equal temas on the field and I promise you any of us could beat him by 2 touchdowns.
