I always thought the get-togethers were key to the essence of the board. You tend to act a little differently towards people once you've met them in real life. Anonymity breeds contempt.

I don't doubt that for one second, its a logic that rings true in any culture, but not every fan is able to make it to the bonfire.

My son and i have definite, undeniable plans to join all of you next year, its honestly one of the great disappointments in my life that i haven't already been able to already... i've had to settle for two George Brett era baseball games, all the while looking across the lot thinking "that's where Joe Delaney plays man!"

Its an honest to God sting on me that i haven't been able to meet so many of you people... but it seems a shame to me that if you aren't a regular tailgater, or NZoner basher, you aren't really considered a worthy fan or poster.
