I can understand the players' frustration. As a fan, I get frustrated when someone can't play. But we're talking about a guy's BRAIN. Maybe there should be a bit more precaution taken as compared to some other injuries?

They also said that defensive players are starting to talk in code about it being worth getting a fine to knock opposing players out of games because it's easier with this protocol.

He mentioned some of the colts players talking about the "stingers" they got Charles with. I'm guessing stingers is now code for knocking guys out of games.

I'm still of the belief that in the near future rookies entering the NFL are going to be forced to either sign a waiver protecting the league from lawsuits relating to all future harm that may befall them in the league, or don't play in the league.

"Forced to not play" is an interesting way of putting it.
I can't say whether or not the protocol itself is proper or effective--I'm not a doctor. I'm assuming they know something.

But if a guy hurts his knee and the sideline doctor says he thinks there may be damage and there's risk of greater injury--do you let the guy back in the game even if he says he'll play through the pain? Of course not.

I'm sure in the next CBA the player's union will propose the players wiave all rights to sue in return for letting the player decide if he goes back in.
