Are you required to allow the Lottery to release your name?

Hell, I would give them 10% to keep their mouths shut. Nobody would know I won a penny.

It varies by state. I'm almost positive that in Kansas, you have no choice. They're plastering your name everywhere.

Son of a bitch.

Well, I don't need to worry about it since I don't play.

I figure with my luck, I'd buy what would be the winning ticket, but die just moments before the winning numbers are picked, which, of course, would be the day before the Chiefs finally participate in, and win, the SB.

Then please, by all means, start playing.

See my previous post. Kansas doesn't require names to be released. Someone in Ottawa, KS won PowerBall or MegaMillions last year. They chose not to have their name released.

Kansas you can stay private. There are lottery winners in Ottawa, Kansas that never had their names announced. Friends figured it out when they started building the new house and bought KU season basketball tix.

It depends on the state you live in. Kansas doesn't require the winner's name be released, some states do.

If they insisted on releasing my name the first thing I do is move to another state where no one knows me and then hire an extremely reputable financial advisor.

If the payout was big enough, like say euro countries where the lottery can get close to a billion dollars, I would try to buy an NFL team altho I think most NFL teams cost more than a billion /sigh.
