It had more to do with KU being lazy all night.

KU should have won by 15 if they gave a shit.

No Embiid obviously played a role in them being able to have their way in the paint all night. This team is just on a different playing level when Embiid is in there playing well.

I think that's a reasonable assessment. That's a tall order for a team that starts three frosh.

But I have a hard time with "we were lazy or we wudda won by 15". I think it's a cop out. Give the other team some credit and be dignified when you lose.

They don't win that game by 15... they were lazy on offense at times, especially early on, but that's a credit to KSU making them work and not simply KU sleepwalking. Making teams work really hard for the higher percentage shots is what Self's teams usually do, and I'm sure not every opponent that shoots poorly against Kansas is simply sleepwalking.

In previous years, if they were within 10 with a few minutes left, I'd think 'they've got them right where they want them', but like KCC said during the game, this team doesn't shut down teams to make that possible, especially without Embiid. Last night's comeback seemed like a small miracle vs every other year since Roy's kids left.

Hopefully they gained some toughness and learned from it so they're the team we're used to seeing in March... so, we might thank you for the lesson later.
