Tyson Jackson says the Chiefs haven't been negotiating a contract

Tjax turned into a solid 2 down lineman. There is a place in the NFL for a guy like that. I think he'll be missed if we let him walk.

He's not a terrible player but he's totally replaceable. I don't care about sack totals as much as you probably do. Jackson does not pressure QB's and at least two of those sacks were 'bags'. He was unblocked because of a blitz. He didn't beat a linemen to get the sack. That's a scheme sack. If we pay him like the player he IS it shouldn't be a big deal. He and his agent likely will over value Jackson until he gets on the market and realizes he isn't quite worth what he thinks. Or maybe someone pays him a ton of money. Oh well. He's replaceable.

If Jackson routinely pressured QBs and forced bad throws and early throws I'd agree that sack totals don't mean everything. When he rarely ever pressures QB's and half of his sacks are unblocked scheme sacks, then yeah... that's a problem. We have two DE's that cannot rush the QB at all. This was obvious all season long.

2-down players are easily replaced. It's the guys who can do it all (Campbell, Dockett (when he was younger), Wilkerson, Jordan, Watt, Smith, Seymour, Richardson, etc.) that you need to hold on to. 2-down players can be replaced easily and cheaply in FA or later in the draft.

Meh, not worth it. Doesn't offer any pass rush upside either. I'd rather give Catapano and Co. a shot than re-sign a proven-to-be mediocre pass rusher in TJ.

I totally disagree......he got paid 10x the amount that Allen Bailey got paid and Bailey will be just as good I think. Plus Mike Catapano is WAY underrated! That kid can be a superstar in a 3rd down pass rushing role...just watch

And If he's asking for an unrealistic contract? There's a reason we haven't put serious play into keeping him, Albert, Asamoah, and Schwartz. They're asking for too much. He might be missed you stop the run, but I don't think it will be that big of an impact

Amazing what a year makes, they were about to cut his ass last if he didnt take that massive pay cut and so he did coming off a horrible season. Now because the Chiefs won 11 games this dudes about to cash in lol.
