WR Emmanuel Sanders signs with Denver - Executives cry foul

Executives crying foul over Emmanuel Sanders deal

Emmanuel Sanders is expected to sign with the Broncos tomorrow, but the process that led him there left the other teams involved fuming and crying foul. One team official claimed Sanders' agent broke "every rule in negotiations."

Agent Steve Weinberg, on behalf of the receiver, accepted a deal with the Chiefs in principle, according to one team source. Weinberg then engaged in negotiations with the Tampa Bay Bucs, according to another source involved in the process.

While shopping the Chiefs offer to the Bucs, Weinberg never explained that he had already accepted the terms of Kansas City's offer. Later in the night, Sanders' agent had agreed to terms with the Broncos, which is where he is currently headed. Sanders and Weinberg also rankled the 49ers by agreeing to visit, then blowing it off.

"This was one of the worst situations in modern football negotiations," one executive involved said. "Totally wrong. This needs to be stopped."

Reached at his home late Saturday, Weinberg declined to comment on the record when informed of the allegations.

The Dallas-based agent was recently reinstated by the NFL Players Association, which had barred and decertified him in 2003 because it had reportedly found he diverted assets to an offshore account during a dispute with a partner and collecting a fee from a client prematurely. Weinberg later filed suit against the NFLPA and its top officials, alleging they illegally took away his certification for eight years, along with past, present and future income of clients.

Weinberg has two clients currently on NFL teams, not including Sanders. He had 42 before he was barred.

While Weinberg broke no laws in accepting a deal, the entire situation infuriated those he dealt with. It is commonly accepted in the league that once two sides agree to a deal -- in writing or in handshake form -- that's the end of the story. Instead, by Weinberg shopping the Chiefs deal and then not informing the Bucs that a deal had been reached showed another side of the business. It is unclear if the Broncos were aware of the previous actions.

"When a man gives you his words and pulls out," one executive said, "then gives another team your word and pulls out, then gives another team his word ... Not proper."

I've actually tried to get Omaha to get his brother to post here (OmahaColt) because that guy and I had some epic battles and I actually kinda miss jabbing him in the eye with an ice pick. Plus, I want to kick him in the nuts a few times for his love for Cassel and Tyson Jackson.

I'd also like to see BroncoStud post here, too. He would be a quality addition. I always respected that guys takes and I hope his kid is doing well, he probably just started first grade.

Xen, kccrow (who does post here now), Zappa, Jacavicious, the old guy that went to Kansas with Gayle Sayers was always a good read, and there are probably a handful of others that posted quality stuff in a site where that was rare.

I liked Zappa thought he would like it here. My fav 5-10 posters there I liked as much as my favs here it's just the masses there were hardcore homers.
Is Eraser the old guy you were talking about? He had great takes on ol. Bizzaro world Milkman.
Former db provided some good info too. Broncostud was the anti-Knowmo. OmahaColt would have been unbearable after the playoff game.

I forgot about eraser...he was a good poster, too...but not who I was thinking of. The guy I'm thinking of was something like OldTimer or something.

I just got sick and tired of most of the mods there (arrowhead was a worthless douche) and when they started a thread asking why they didnt have much traffic, I made a bunch of posts detailing exactly why and how they could fix it and basically laid it out of what the perception of the place was elsewhere (all in a respectful way) and the mods (except xen) didn't appreciate the truth and couldn't stand to be criticized.

BossKiller banned me after I ripped Cassel up and down and how most of the members there couldn't see Cassel for who he was because of the logo on his helmet....and then made the pussy move of deleting the whole thread after banning me. I got Pm's from a handful of members there shortly after saying how it was bullshit and how the mods said they would let me back if I apologized. Hahaha sad.

Oh well, I'm glad the place seemingly went on a complete downward slide after that and it seems like it actually folded recently.

RIP, if true.

Milkman may be the best OL poster on any Chiefs site I've read. Not sure why you would say that. Milkman used to post on the CC, too. He and GoChiefs are why I came to this site in the first place.

GoChiefs and I had some big clashes over there, too....but over time have become friends of sorts.

Former DB posts here on occasion and I wish he posted more.

He was the only one that I think ever had better camp reports than I did -toots own horn-

I like both milk's and eraser's posts it's just milkman in CP through and through and eraser is typical polite like everyone there pretty much. Ever see the seinfeld bizzaro world episode? Guess it loses its meaning if you hadn't. Wasn't a knock on milkman at all. He's on of my fav posters here.

Yeah, I love Seinfeld.

The bizarro guys were the opposite of the actual guys.

Maybe I missed something.

Didn't know GoChiefs was over there. Seems like his shtick would get him banned pretty quick at that place.
