He was. He did a lot of the same driving/finishing Cliff and Kelly did last night.

It's "easy" when you are going up against kids smaller than you. Not so much when those high schools boys become young men or even just men, ie, Tarik Black)

I'm not going to go too crazy over Oubre finishing drives in an exhibition all-star game.

This. And Selden looked like a fearless driver in the McDAA game last year, and I don't think he took the ball to the hoop once this season. That's why I pretty much quit watching those things. Sherron didn't do a damn thing (other than the dunk at the end) in his McDAA game, and he turned out to be a monster.

What you should be interested in from last night was that, during a game notorious for shitty defense and lazy plays, Oubre played serious ****ing defense all night long.

Cliff was clearly favoring the wrist, but at the end cliff and oubre went at each other. It was pretty badass, actually. Oubre went up for a poster dunk at the end and Cliff challenged at the rim, fouling him. Jayhawk on Jayhawk crime.

While Selden and Wiggins absolutely looked dominating in high school, Oubre has a tenacity on defense Wiggins lacked. Don't get me wrong, Wiggins is a sick good defender, but i think it's more because he is so much faster, longer, and quicker than everyone else. Kelly Oubre just despises you for holding the ball, trying to dribble, wearing that jersey, and even showing up.

Sadly... this.

Three thoughts:

1. Bill Self ain't going anywhere. He'd only want a premiere job with a star. Spoelstra, Popovich, Scottie Brooks... none of these guys are going anywhere. Popovich won't retire until Duncan does. And then what the hell's the point? As much credit as Popovich gets, he does have THE BEST POWER FORWARD EVER TO PLAY THE GAME. Maybe if Joel Embiid goes to the Lakers and D'antoni is fired, but frankly the Lakers don't go for guys who aren't proven (even though it would be a brilliant move).

2. If Self does leave, I honestly don't think he'd go without Manning being ready to take over.

3. If Self leaves, and Manning takes over, he would die on the job. First coach we would have had in a long ass time that actually played for KU.
