I guess I just don't understand the trolling since you guys have moved onto the B1G.

But, your takes, for the most part have been pretty good.

Much more realistic than Krusty's, that's for sure.

How is what I'm saying unrealistic? Iowa State will be in the running to win the Big12. That doesn't mean we win it, that means we are in it until the end, just like we've been in it the last few years. Hell we won the Big12 tournament last year AND made it further in the NCAA tournament than Kansas.

At least when we are eliminated, it's at least to the team that goes on to win it all.

1. Nobody gives a shit about conference tournaments, especially big time programs with nothing to play for and with no real impact on seeding regardless of the outcome. It's harder to win the regular season title and teams are rewarded for that with a high seed. We're averaging a 1.8 seed in the big dance the last 15 years and haven't always won the pickup basketball tourney. Given ISU's lack of success I kind of understand (no I don't understand, we're KU and we're blessed with being a national title contender every year) your excitement in winning an exhibition tournament.

2. You can't believe the shit you type. Nobody is this sports stupid. Stop trolling.

You can't compare Kansas to Iowa State over history. We were dog shit before Hoiberg and we've gotten better every year he's been here. He got us up to a 3 seed only returning 2 players from the previous years rotation. He's gotten better every year and he's ran a different system every year adjusting to his new players strengths. We were a three seed that lost to the National Champions, and we are taller, deeper, and more experienced than ever. It's pretty fair to say we are in it.

We will start the season ranked, and we will still be ranked when the year is over. Just like this year, we will be talked about as a team with a good chance of winning it all. Iowa State isn't afraid to play anyone anymore, and teams don't want to match up with Iowa State... Especially in Hilton.

Oh and I never did bother to post this, but Iowa State did finish the season ranked higher than Kansas too.

Man imagine what Fred could do if he pulled in the talent Kansas does. Oh well, we will see those players at Iowa State in the next few years.

I understand you not wanting to believe after being at top for so long, I'd probably feel the same way. But Fred is building something special. Something really special.

There is a reason every single NBA opening this year has contacted Fred Hoiberg gauging his interest.

Hate to say it because he's obviously delusional, but ISU arguably had a better year than KU. Yes KU beat them at the Hilton, which was extraordinarily gratifying, and KU won the regular season, but the Hawks had so much talent on paper and never put it together. Bill Self did a bad job of coaching last year, and we looked like dogshit in the tourney and lost to a dogshit team. ISU played better than us later in the season, and that's when it matters. The huge caveat obviously is that Embiid was out for us for so long, but even then, we still had so much talent on paper, and Self never got the team to gel. They didn't play motivated. I have confidence that Self will do a better job next year, and in the long run, of course I'd rather be KU than ISU, but Rusty has a leg to stand on in terms of last year.
As for next year, we're bringing in a hell of a class, so I'd expect us to beat ISU again and be better than we were last season, but it depends heavily on a group of guys who have never played together before. The odds are strongly in our favor that KU will outplay ISU next year, but given Self's failings last year with incredible talent, it's far from certain.
