Brandon Flowers done

Quote:
Chiefs released CB Brandon Flowers.
Flowers' performance and usefulness in Kansas City slipped dramatically under new DC Bob Sutton last season, as a press-man scheme was installed in the secondary and Flowers failed to find a fit. He wound up mostly at slot corner, and was beaten relentlessly. The Chiefs were trying to trade Flowers, but found no takers for his contract. Flowers had some of the best years of his career under now-Texans DC Romeo Crennel, and cornerback depth is needed in Houston. We wouldn't be surprised to see them reunite. Flowers turned 28 in February.
Related: Texans, Chiefs
Jun 13 - 3:04 PM
Quote:
Chargers agreed to terms with CB Brandon Flowers on a one-year contract.
The deal is worth "up to" $5 million and contains $3 million in total guarantees. Despite an anemic 2013 season as a misfit in Bob Sutton's press-man scheme, Flowers found a full bushel of suitors after the Chiefs released him 11 days ago. He lands in a spot where he can immediately rehab his value as a starting corner and then hit the open market again at age 29. Flowers put plenty of really good tape together from 2008-12, and will add borderline Pro Bowl shadow ability to a pass defense that ranked 29th in the league last year. With first-round corner Jason Verrett also added to incumbents Shareece Wright and Richard Marshall, this won't be quite the unit to pick on that it was last season.
He's a Charger now.

Yeah and that was a total fluke because Rivers fumbled on a kneel down play to set up a game winning chip shot field goal. youtube.com/watch?v=DWGCeMNmyV0

And LOL at the Chargers tiny corners.

I'm not spending my summer schooling some 6 year old homers.

Mods, you better keep an eye on these fools. They could ruin the board.
Their irrational posts will do nothing but stir up the natives into hopeful thoughts and we can't have that.
What I said was 100% accurate. That doesn't make me a homer that makes me correct.

I'm not sure the tone of voice you are posting with here, and I know we don't have any Super Bowl trophies, but LT did win league MVP in 2006.

Also I'm never quite sure why the Chiefs fans hate the shit out of the Broncos and Raiders, but not us. We're the only AFC West team that has a winning record against the Chiefs (lifetime). Seems like you would hate us a little more. I guess you just like to grasp onto that 45 year old Championship, and since the Chargers haven't joined that exclusive club, we're not worthy of any hatred.

That call gave the Texans the game if you ignore that the game continued for another 15 minutes, the Chargers still had the lead, and then they promptly shit their pants and gave it away.

C'mon Buck, think about it. Raider hate is a no-brainer: Al Davis, chronic thug demeanor, ad infinitum...

Donk hatred stems from a combination of close playoff losses with salary-cap cheating, cooking-spray cheating, injury-faking, and cheap-shotting character.

The Chargers come nowhere near their level of douchebaggery. Raider and Donk hate is in the genetic make-up of Chief fans. Charger hate is more... temporal.

Its odd, I don't hate SD as a team, but I hate Rivers with a passion. He is one of my least liked NFL players. Its purely a personality thing.

Also I think that whole living in a temperate weather environment simply makes you soft.

Flowers' contract terms with SD certainly support the argument that his cap hit was too high. Hell, we may have offered to renegotiate, and he turned us down, and got less than we were offering.

And who cares about whether he goes to a division rival? So irrelevant if you ask me.

Was a great player for us, but his style caused him to break down physically and he's a guy that couldn't afford to lose a step.

Based on the deal he got I can see why we didn't want to pay him what he was scheduled to make. I don't think we got better by cutting him, but I think it allows us to make moves to get better in the long term. We'll see if they take advantage of it.

The last game they barely beat our B team and the first game at Areowhead we were beating them down until both Tamba and Houston got hurt.

SD is not that great IMO

Neither team is as good as their record last year...
