*.* 2014 General Fitness Thread *.*
Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition!
No one else started it so here it is! **From the 2013 Thread** If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs If you have questions about the SS programs, look here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE: http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point. |

What is everyone's thoughts on lateral and front shoulder raises?
They always feel awkward and included weird clicking/popping. Sometimes there's even some pinching. |

BPC is a staple in my keto diet. I've also been doing a 20/4 intermittent fast. I didn't think I'd like it but it really simplifies things. I find that I have better workouts in a fasted state.

I generally try to do a 16/8 intermittent fast. I might try and integrate it into CNS three days a week. I don't generally eat breakfast anyways.....so it's not that big of a deal.

Okay, I went to Philly last week, and ate WAY too much bread (and sweets). Back on track this week. I did gain some, so I'm trying to burn it back off. I'm still doing my workouts, but I'm thinking of upping my jogging to everyday (on top of the gym time). Is that too much? Is anything really too much as long as I'm not burnt out?

Just take less weight at the beginning and work on your form. A little clicking and popping shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't feel any pain. I don't like the machine too much for that exercise honestly...

I find that the machine is better because it won't let you cheat. Machines are less than ideal for compound exercises, but really shine on isolation stuff.
