Wait, so he's just playing the same role in the same story, but just on American TV?

What's the point?

They should have just bought the rights to Broadchurch.

Edit: Hopefully the killer is someone different than on Broadchurch. That would be pretty boring if it was the same person.

Yeah I dunno, apparently Broadchurch did really bad in BBC1 America and then FOX or whatever saw how successful it was in the UK and wanted to remake it with an American backdrop.. Pretty sure the core story will exactly be the same but they said they're taking it down a few different paths than the original. Tennant never really had any success in the US in his career so I'm sure he jumped at this (probably wrongfully) in order to reach a much larger audience.
