Not sure you can call it Stoner/Doom but I saw Rob Zombie and John 5 on Friday night. My hearing started to come back yesterday morning.
One of the best shows I've seen in a long time. |

He came out for the first set wearing some kind of alien body armor, complete with green LEDs, and his signature Telecaster guitar was made out of clear acrylic and filled with that yellow/green shit that they put in glow sticks. |

Just picked this up today. Some similarities to their Razor & Tie label mates, The Sword:

That Windhand tune is brutal. Love it.

This isn't stoner/doom but it definitely deserves a mention. Best Priest album since Painkiller, maybe longer. A lot of really groovy riffs on this album.

I'll confess to being a Windhand fan and not realizing that was a chick singing until I saw them live.

I'm deeply in love with the new Water Torture record, Pillbox. Dual bass and drum trio. Definitely more experimental grindcore as opposed to straight up doom, but they've tuned this one low for an even bleaker than usual listen.

Awesome, it makes me kinda miss the old MTV... these guys did an incredible job fitting the scene to the music, in a word... haunting. Also liked the new Uncle Acid stuff, far more groovy and melodic than the other song or two I've listened to... makes me wanna get baked and go look at a sunset out in the woods. |

That shit will put you in a trance no doubt, I wish bands like that came around here... instead we get "Captain Geech and The Shrimp Shack Shooters" playing all of the tired ass classic rock you turned your radio off because of! |
