I don't understand why people compare anyone to Aaron Rodgers. There isn't another Rodgers. There probably isn't going to be one either.

We can stfu with this Alex = Steve Young bullshit.

I was just watching the 1992 NFC championship replay.

Aikman got good protection. Young was getting rushed.

Geno Smith has a great opportunity to stay fresh now, being on the sideline and all.

3) Steve Young was drafted by the Buccaneers. Please show me where Alex Young was drafted by any Florida team.
4) Steve Young is currently an NFL analyst. Alex Smith hasn't even retired yet.
5) Steve Young succeeded Jeff Garcia. Alex Smith succeeded Matt Cassel. Apples and oranges.
Steve young succeeded Garcia? How?

I mean, he does have a whole lot more in common with them than you or I. Have you ever QB'd a game in the NFL? Signed an NFL contract? Maybe these are the things they are comparing AS to. Surely they are not comparing AS ability to play the QB position is on par with SY or AR... If they are then I have lost faith in humanity a little bit.

AS is like the line in Moneyball. "There is Aaron Rodgers, Steve Young, and then there is fifty feet of crap.. and then there is Alex Smith," - Brad Pitt "Moneyball, 2011"

No, Young played at BYU.

You guys are ****ing this all up. Young succeeded Blanda when OJ was drafted by the 9ers.
Montana was still playing at Michigan with Tom Brady as his understudy. That's when Bill Belicheck was coaching at OSU with Bernie Kosar and Warren Moon was shot by his GF in Nashville after beating the Rams in SB 2, (and guaranteeing it).

You got that?

****... I forgot all about the longest game in NFL history. Nick Lowery with the KC Texans missed the 45 yarder against Dan Marino and Tampa Bay.
That's waaay before Geno Smith was arrested for beating pit bulls in the elevator.

That's the kind of QB I want...a guy who can go toe to toe with pit bulls and kick ass.

Alex Smith can't even take on a chihuahua without needing multiple stitches.
