I don't have all that high of expectations for this year. Seems like there are a lot of voids that need filled and if oubre and Alexander aren't all world it's going to be a tough year.

I disagree. The team had lotto talent last season but so young. I look at it like the difference between 2006-2008 – some pieces changed, but the core went from a first round loss to a championship just by getting older. Other than Kentucky (which their 2011 team had more experienced players than they get credit for), maturity has shown to be a major factor in making a deep run.

That, and hopefully having a star player that prefers to take over games instead of watching from the 3-point line.

I hope you're right. But this looks to me like a collins/Aldrich year or Taylor/TRob year. If we don't have a guy step up and be unstoppable it's going to suck. I mean, I think we'll be running out better talent than Connor freaking Teahan, but I don't see a team that can beat you from anywhere.

Like I said, I hope I'm wrong but it just feels that way.

Besides that, statistically, you'd think we'd be due for a dud. Maybe you can point to some tourney performances and say there it is, but Christ, the big 12 titles, the home record, FFS the away record, the wins against ****ing everybody, all point to a goddamn ridiculous run of good teams. You have to think there is going to be a year where the wheels fall off. It happens to every other school. I figure we are due. Debbie Downer I know, but it boggles the mind the level of basketball we've seen under Self. I certainly don't want a junk season, but I'm preparing myself for one.

This team will be good. They have a lot of talent that is a year older & wiser and they've got some great young talent coming in. Probably will be better than some other recent teams.

Just saw this. It's a shame to see the local kid go, but in all honesty he was going to get buried on the bench behind Mason and Graham. Good luck to the kid, though.

Unfortunately the writing as been on the wall for a while now. Self REALLY likes Graham, and Svi is basically a taller version of Conner albeit not as great of a shooter. I'm sure Self is pretty happy, there has been rumblings from ppl close to the program that Conner's dad is one of "those parents" who is middling regarding Conner's role with the team.
