Sophomore slump. He'll snap out of it. Meanwhile, we're beating top 20 teams coached by Hall of Famers without him doing much to help on offense.

It's all good

Hopefully he's got the flu or some shit.

Svi makes me smile. His feel for the game is absolutely incredible for basically a senior in High School. If he can stay healthy and keep his head on straight, he's going to be flat out nasty.

No he wasn't. He was active on the boards and loose balls and made some fantastic passes that not one other player on the court could have seen or made.

He just couldn't make a shot.

He wasn't either of these things on that day. He was soft, way too casual, and failed to make the right play numerous times with the ball.

And it's past time casual college basketball fans were introduced to this 17-year-old import because he's A) the youngest player in the Big 12, B) the youngest player to ever play for Self, C) the only freshman to start more than one game this season for the Jayhawks, and D) the only KU freshman currently averaging more than 20 minutes per game.

"He's not bad for a high school junior," Self said with a smile.

No, he isn't. And that's something literally every NBA scout I talked with during the Orlando Classic reiterated. Never mind that Kansas freshman Cliff Alexander is the reigning Naismith High School Player of the Year, and it doesn't matter that fellow Kansas freshman Kelly Oubre is listed in the top five of mock drafts. What NBA scouts told me is that Mykhailiuk -- again, just Svi for short -- is the best longterm prospect on KU's roster because he's a 6-foot-8 wing who is a good-enough passer, a willing defender, and a top-shelf shooter even though he hasn't actually shot the ball well through six games this season.

Too early to talk about Mason? He was great in Orlando and he may be turning the corner to being productive. He's probably our only plus ball handler.

Hated him after the UK game for driving to the basket too much but in reality that's going to work against pretty much every other team in CBB beside the Cats.

Love his demeanor. Even in pics like this...

Yeah, that shit is working against non-NBA teams.

I believe KCC said something along the lines of if he keeps hitting threes he's going to be hell to defend. Dude has quicks.

The thing I've noticed is he seems to be looking for the fast break more often than we've seen in the past. I ****ing love it. With the athleticism on this team, and his ability to push the pace (if it's not just shitty competition) will offset some offensive problems we have.

And how the **** is he getting so many rebounds? He's a midget, and here he is skying over our big guys for boards. He has 24 ****ing rebounds. 24. Traylor has 25, Cliff has 36. Ellis has 42. I don't know whether that's awesome or terrible.

And why is Selden's jersey too damn small? Can't we afford to get him a jersey that fits?

Mason was KU's best player in that tournament in my mind. Holding the whole thing together right now and a positive on both ends.

The three point shot is a huge added dimension to his game. Now he just has to drive to pass a bit more.

The fact that Frank is always looking to grab a rebound is a plus. Jamari should be much better in that area (and really all areas) than he has been, though. I had wondered why Self had him out at the end of that MSU game, but it turned out he was trying to instill some confidence into him. We'll see if it works going forward.

Traylor is just such a crazy athlete albeit undersized. If he can't get it all put together, I will be disappointed.

It was really fun watching him on the front end of the press in that shitty ass NCAA loss.

UT looking solid on D. UK struggling badly against them. Getting torched on the boards.

Bad call on the flagrant against UT, changed the game.
