If Nick Lowery could have kicked under pressure, instead of missing a field goal in regulation and overtime, the Chiefs would have been in the 1989 playoffs.
And maybe Chiefs history would have been forever changed... |

If John Alt/David Szott hadn't held on that 3rd Down run Lowry would have made the field goal . If memory serves me.correctly that GW FG was about a nut hair shy of hitting the crossbar. 10 yards would have made all the difference in the world.

Had Nick the Dick not missed two easy field goals, the Chiefs would have made the playoffs in 1989. |

With the holding call, it was a 42 yard field goal. Lowery missed it. If Santos missed a 42 yard, FTW kick, that would advance the Chiefs in the playoffs, he'd be run out of town in a rail. Yet Lowery, for whatever reason, got a pass. To this day, I don't understand why. |

yep - and as I recall (and my memory may be a bit fuzzy), the holding call was super-questionable.
But - not much has changed - we still need a win, and a ton of things to happen to sneak into the playoffs. Although, I think the 90 team could have done some damage in the playoffs, as opposed to this year's team.
