Alex Smith's 2nd year looks alot like Trent Green's 2nd yr w/Chiefs

stat-wise and Because we are the Chiefs and DKTM

Trent Green 2002 (32 years old)
287/470 - 61.1% 3,690 yards 26 TDs 13 INTs

Alex Smith 2014 (30 years old)
303/464 - 65.3% 3,265 yards 18 TDs 6 INTs

Well sans the TDs but Green only had 17 in 2001 and Smith had 23 in 2013.

^I dont think Bowe is a #2 on Chicago, but agree with you that on an overwhelming majority of teams on that list, Bowe is a #2. Its actually laughable to say he otherwise.

Fair enough. I would because if a team can run ball they take a lot of pressure off a rookie quarterback. It's proven many times over it can be done. Rothlesberger started as rookie behind a suspect line and took the Steelers always the to playoff his rookie season and won it all the following season. They did it with the exact formula I mentioned earlier.

Of course you did.

Because Bowe is a clear cut #3 on a team that went 5-11, and that doesn't suit your agenda.

But it's the truth.

No....because I'd put him as #3 behind Marshall and Jeffrey. Their record has zero to do with it.

Big Ben faceplants into small vehicles without a helmet in between raping coeds for fun. He's a rare breed.

The Aaron Rodgers/Steve Young method would be my preference, lol

More than willing to admit a foggy memory with Dave, but theres just no no way he was as fast or snakey as Thomas. Production-wise at this stage of their careers? without even looking I'd defer there, its probably pretty damn close.

Suffice it to say, watching DAT has been an absolute thrill so far, my son told a beautiful story about being at Arrowhead against the fade when Thomas got the punt and how ALL of the air was suddenly sucked out of the place.

Dave was never the natural running OR receiving candidate that this kid is, nor was he as fast or quick... this guy is just as I hoped/predicted at the draft... a McCluster x 3.

Meggett was certainly a crucial piece on SB winner, but only in his dreams did he have the speed and snakieness of Thomas... the kid is a JOY to watch, his future is so bright I need welding goggles.

Absolutely. He'd also be #3 behind Jackson and Garcon in Washington...behind Watkins and Woods in Buffalo...Brown and Bryant in Pittsburgh...Williams and Bryant In Dallas...

On and on. He's a great #3, and a passable #2.

Call it for what it is.

Guaranteed he starts over Woods in Buffalo, over Bryant in Pittsburgh and over Williams in Dallas.

Bowe and Garcon had nearly identical seasons. That's a toss up.

He would start over Robert Woods, who did not have a very good year.

He would also probably start over Bryant in Pittsburgh, who is really just a deep threat at this point in his career and offers little else.

Woods and Bryant have age on their side and will likely pass Bowe as time goes on, but there is more hate directed at Bowe than is warranted.

Maybe on experience. But Woods would eventually render him a distant 3rd in Buffalo as well. Woods has more explosiveness, more natural ball skills, and has a way higher upside.
