LNBS: Can Alex Smith be "Fixed"?
Part of me wants to think so.

We saw flashes in 2013 of him testing defenses downfield and being a lot more than a game manager.

Then his OL got severely downgraded through 3 big losses in free agency (all 3 got overpaid) and his 2 guards weren't even nfl quality, let alone starter quality.

His receivers needed a major upgrade last offseason (they were an obvious team weakness) and other than adding Jason Avant late in the year and developing a promising rookie in Albert Wilson...not a whole lot was done to help provide Alex Smith with adequate weapons. Losing Avery to injury further weakened an already subpar unit.

Here's my question:

If they improve the OL and receivers...will we see Alex Smith come out of his shell again (like we saw flashes of in the second half of 2013)?

If he does, how far can this team go if the defense plays like it has and Dee Ford steps into Hali's shoes adequately?

I have seen many on here show pictures of receivers "wide open" , but they don't notice that by the time the receiver is open Alex Smith is under pressure. I'd like to see how many "wide open" receivers he missed that were wide open at a time he could have made a throw. Some of you aren't willing to give him that much.

Well Im glad to finally get a better idea of what Alexs nut lickers are looking for. No defender within 10 yards of a WR and Alex as he throws. Of course if he still misses Im sure we will hear shit about progressions and play design Possibly a strained vag effecting his play as well.

Almost all of that A22 film posted had guys open deeper at the time of his 'checkdown', which means he could of thrown it.

Alex Smith is fixed. Harbaugh fixed him. This is as good as gets. Short passes, don't make mistakes, he will keep the team competitive as long as the D is playing lights out.
