And nothing else really needs to be said about Sherron 2.0. That dude is a beast and we are lucky to have him. Heart and soul of this year's squad, as well as the next two years.

I actually prefer him as a point guard to Mason. I think it's just more of a natural position for him than it is for Frank.

Thankfully, Mason is too short to make the jump to the NBA. We'll definitely have him four years, and I think by his senior season, he SHOULD be able to have his head on a swivel when going to the basket. He still misses open guys when he's driving - case in point being that amazing sequence against Texas when he could have lobbed it to Brannen Greene. He still got the And-1, but sometimes Mason just makes it harder than it needs to be.

I have been on the "Cliff Alexander is going to the NBA this year, and if you think otherwise you are crazy" train for awhile.

But Texas' length really bothered him. I think he's going to be a good NBA power forward, and there's still a chance that teams realize that and draft him to play the four, not bang against brooke lopez and andre drummond.

But that game showed me exactly how Cliff doesn't get drafted this year. We can only hope.

KU conference only stats:

#1 score off
#1 score margin
#1 3pt %
#1 a/to ratio
#1 reb margin
#1 defensive rebounding and %
#1 ast
#2 stl
#2 TO margin
#2 FG% & FG % def
#2 reb
#3 reb def
#4 blk
#5 score def
#5 3pt % def
#6 ft %
#6 off reb

Also, we're the 277th-best team in the country finishing at the rim (according to hoop-math), and we're 16-3. That's pretty crazy. Shooting 40% from 3 helps though.

We have a decent defense, great outside shooting, a legit offensive PG, inability to O-board or finish, or block shots- but we take care of the ball.

Most unlikely Self team ever

Definitely seemed like they're especially bad this year, even taking into account that college players in general aren't all that great at it. Of course, not having a Withey or Embiid hurts... it's easy to forget an initial miss in close when one of those guys is right there to put it in.

Watching Cliff or Oubre or Perry or whoever go in for that monster bash only to be squarely rejected by the rim is frustrating; but also hilarious.

They tried so hard, and got so far...

Cliff will continue to put up double-doubles and look like a monster the rest of the year. Albeit a monster with room to grow.

Guys with his athletic ability and presence don't come back for a second year. Unless he just sort of falls apart during the tourney. Let's hope not.

It's clearly pissing them off that they aren't finishing their dunks. Even Perry showed visible frustration and tried to slam it home.

it will happen. I mean, shit, the Morrii didn't dunk for like two years.

Agreed. But I'm taking it.

Before I was looking at a team that couldn't defend for 35 seconds. Had no defensive presence in the middle. The best guy at scorin with his back to the basket is a 6'8 vagina and thinking fuuu*******.

I'm loving where we are at compared to what I was expecting.

The biggest thing that kills me about him is he won't score with his back to the basket. He's got a nice midrange shot that is money if they don't pick him up (which is awesome BTW) and he's really good at finding a soft spot and being ready for the ball (plus Ellis and Traylor are great at getting it to him), but he won't score with a guy on his butt. That has to happen. Boggles my mind that he won't. Especially as huge and athletic as he is.

If every player gave as much as Frank did on the court every single game, we'd be a much better team for it. The MVP of this group by far.

Nonetheless, it's empirical data. The best you have to go on for predictive results. I just don't think it should be used for seeding, because to me that has nothing to do with how good you are...but should have everything to do with what you actually DID
