Pats Cheating Comfirmed

According to the report, the league sources say the NFL determined 11 of the 12 footballs used by the Patriots were under-inflated by two pounds per square inch each. Per NFL rules, footballs are required to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 PSI and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.

Reading the report, this doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The "source" claims to KNOW that the balls were under-pressurized, but says a gauge wasn't used. How do they know they were below regulation pressure if a gauge wasn't used?

I had wondered that from the very beginning. Did the refs actually do their job to start with. As I said earlier, these are the same schmucks that stare at Hali in a choke hold 5 times a game and forget where their flag is, or forget what the definition of holding is. It is also possible they only check one ball, hence why one is inflated normally. Pats put one ball on top that is inflated normally, ref checks that one and just does a quick hand test on the others and says okay because he thinks the whole thing is pointless and he is in a rush to do something else. So in that scenario they cheated by knowing how lazy the refs were, but then you go back to Rodgers balls being deflated because he wanted them more full, so he tried to cheat but the ref that day wasn't lazy.

Easy as beating the pee test. Did they throw the footballs into a whizzenator? Maybe use sealed baggies of fake air?

they did the 'squeeze test' before the game and cleared the balls for play.. (this is speculation, as I dont believe they have confirmed exactly WHAT they did pre-game)

then at halftime, they checked the balls with a gauge, and found them to be low and inflated them...(as they said they did)

it makes as much sense as anything reasonable I have heard

and it makes more sense than 90 seconds in a bathroom trying to deflate all the balls then walk out like a boss with them all zipped back up in a bag

I really dont know, do you?

the only time I heard them specifically say they checked every ball with a PSI gauge was half time...

Oddly, the NFL has even come out and specifically SAID they checked the balls PSI at halftime and corrected them....but they havent said what they did pre-game exactly yet (to my knowledge)...

Basically I am speculating as to a possibility....which could make sense....if for some reason they just cleared the balls visually / by feel before the game...and then got some complaints during the game so they checked all the balls and inflated them?

I have no clue...

I mean and on the flip side, even if the refs did clear the balls pre game....maybe they were in on 'the fix' so who knows...its not like it would end the controversy if it was deemed to be a ref ****up.

No...I'm not saying I know either. I just think it's fishy to think that before the game that the officials didn't check them with a gauge.....only did the hand test. But then during the first half....they noticed that the balls were deflated....by doing the hand test.

I love all of the people looking for explanations to how this could have happened ...

uh yeah

The New England Patriots just RANDOMLY had 11 of 12 of their footballs deflated by the exact amount ... just by pure, atmospheric chance

the organization that brought us Scott Pioli ... who bugged the head coaches phone and office ... who freaked out about a candy wrapper ... who was paranoid about every little thing that went on in the organization even at the lowest of levels

yeah

the New England Patriots just, by chance, used deflated balls (and it seems like they've been doing it for years and years and years)

...yep!

That's likely!

Shit. Jerome Bettis, before that damning report about fumbles, felt a ball that was deflated to the Patriots ball and said on ESPN that he didn't think he'd ever fumble that ball.

This explains why every time Ridley fumbled the ball Belichick freaked out and benched him for games at a time.
