According to the report, the league sources say the NFL determined 11 of the 12 footballs used by the Patriots were under-inflated by two pounds per square inch each. Per NFL rules, footballs are required to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 PSI and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.

Probably not. Temperature may have played a role, but the field wasn’t cold enough to explain the full 2 psi drop. More likely, the weather had an accomplice.

You don't know if the Pat's balls were inflated to the higher side of the allowed psi or the lower though.

If it was a drop of 1.8 psi per ball.....even if the Colts were at the high of 13.5.....it would still have weighed under at half time like the Pats did.

this is the big problem but if the colts were over inflated say by even .5 psi then it could dropped to like ALMOST 12.5 and still been almost un noticeable by most psi guages

also

one other thing that might make a difference is that if the colts inflated their balls with colder air, they might have actually dropped less psi than the pats

i dunno but basically we would need to know some more details about the intitial measurements

They were checked before the game. They weren't overinflated.

well what if the margin for error on the guage was around .5 psi though.... like what if they were at 13.9 psi and the ref cleared the ball?

its not that hard to imagine a scenario where the colts balls were slightly over inflated and the pats balls were slightly under...and THEN both balls dropped 1.0-1.5 psi or something

You know what's a lot less hard to imagine? Brady cheated. On one hand you have a team that is always looking for an edge and lives for bending rules. You have a QB who didn't categorically deny that he cheated. On the other hand we have laws of physics that apply only to one sideline of the stadium and not the other, defective pressure gauges, excessive rubbing of the balls, different ambient air in the locker rooms, an easterly wind blowing more precipitation on the Pats side of the field, Gronkowski squeezing the ball too hard and a billion other excuses.

I have already stated multiple times that it looks bad for Brady...

I never once claimed I know the truth here, I am just speculating like everyone else.

Theres only a couple people moronic enough to claim they know all the answers and have the truth.

I am just saying it seems to be at least some possibility that weather/temeperature caused a PSI drop ....

I really dont care what the outcome is...but I do care about the truth...

I'd like to know exactly wtf happened and not just guess...but I mean hey each to their own. Personally I'd like some facts.
