Pats Cheating Comfirmed

According to the report, the league sources say the NFL determined 11 of the 12 footballs used by the Patriots were under-inflated by two pounds per square inch each. Per NFL rules, footballs are required to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 PSI and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.

Good luck with the "facts". The facts are in the hands of the man who works for the owners and who is really close with one owner who already demanded a public apology if there is no Zapruder film.

To you, to haters, to green-eyed monsters. If Brady was your QB you wouldn't be saying that. You'd act like every Patriot fan giving him the benefit of the doubt. It's natural and human.

On one hand you have a team that is always looking for an edge and lives for bending rules.
Using "always" is exaggeration and hyperbole not based on fact...in terms of bending rules. Looking for an edge, though? Nothing wrong with that.

You have a QB who didn't categorically deny that he cheated.
He pretty much did. But it's not easy being green. That emotion, like the emotion of anger, tends to only hear and report selected things.

On the other hand we have laws of physics that apply only to one sideline of the stadium and not the other, defective pressure gauges, excessive rubbing of the balls, different ambient air in the locker rooms, an easterly wind blowing more precipitation on the Pats side of the field, Gronkowski squeezing the ball too hard and a billion other excuses.
It's not illegal to rub balls. That's done to take the shiny gloss off new balls and/or to prevent beading in rainy weather. Eli does it and so do others.

Let's face it you got no clear proof—yet anyways. All you got is one prior, one where the person in question admitted what he did and did it out in the open in front of thousands which is not operating in a clandestine manner as a true cheater. The league clarifed the rule in 2006 as others were still doing it but BB still interpreted it as okay to do so long as not used for that game. Okay, you got him. Still, it's one prior. Not repetitive cheats.

Yeah, I bet the Patriots are sitting around reading this thread and starting to lose confidence as we speak!

I don't think so. But some may try that. Pats play better when attacked, challenged or trash talked before a game. 'Er well, I know that about Brady and the old team did.

It makes sense, too, given what the ESPN sports science guy has said on the subject.
Just go back to the way it used to be....before your Pats cheated the system for a decade.

You are right it clears the Pats. They didn't magically not fumble the ball at the exact time the rule change started.

im not sure why it matters....

they showed pretty clearly theres enough drawbacks to underinflating a ball and not really that much upside

if I was a QB , in theory , I would want an inflated ball because of velocity and the defender having less time to make a play on the balls

rather than the very small % of less drops you would have

I think the % of pass deflections would go higher to account for that based on the show I watched but anyhow

if the balls are inflated to 11.5 PSI does that really matter in the long run, if everyone can do it?

Why not just allow each team 12 balls like they do now and just say you cant ADD anything (sticky stuff, chemicals, etc...) but you can scuff it up or use sandpaper and water and inflate it to whatever....

I dont really see the big deal but im probably missing something

You are. They have an otherworldly ability not to fumble starting the EXACT year they started it. Former players have stated they would never fumble the ball at the underinflated version the Pats were using. EVERY player that left the Pats or came to the Pats had a MUCH higher fumble rate with the other teams. Green Eli is didn't fumble in four years in New England and coughed it up five times in two years in Cincy.
