I spent the past few nights watching great teams from 2003, 2005, etc etc and I feel no connection to this year's squad as I did them. Cliff was a disaster but maybe Black Panda needs to go if we're just going to get the same bullshit every year?

Why don't we have Baker or this Weasel guy? Why do we only look to Baltimore, TX, Chicago and Oak Hill?? Maybe start doing some real recruiting work and stop relying on Rivals to make all your choices for you.

That's all I'm saying. Bill's gettin a little fat..... you could see it on TV today.
Let's get the guy who was head coach in 2003 and 2005. Oh wait.

Self got 5 NBA players to commit to Champaign, IL. 6 if Charlie came. You know how much success Illinois has had and how many NBA players they've recruited since Self? Ha.

Self is a hell of a recruiter and a hell of a coach. Only KU fans would be entitled enough to try and discredit his success. Embarrassing.
Eh, I'm sure every program has those fans... the reeruned shortsighted knee-jerk "something has to change" sort of posts. Chiefs fans do it, I'm sure as hell Kentucky, UNC, etc; fans do it. I could probably even find a few "is Coach K's time up?" posts from Duke fans if I tried hard enough.

Don't think I've ever cared less about a tourney exit. We all knew what this soft team was and they proved it again today. Nothing remotely surprising about how the game went. Self honestly did well to get as much as he did out of them to maintain the streak at 11.

As far as next year goes, it's going to be nice to have Frank, Devonte, and Svi back and getting better. They'll certainly need to. Unless soft Perry Ellis and the baffling Wayne Selden have less responsibility in 2015-2016, we'll probably be right back in this same spot next year.

And it goes without saying that I really hope Self is working on recruiting a big or two. With Cliff gone, we've never been so thin there. Thon Maker?

I remember when Roy left, I emailed Chancellor Hemingway asking to go get BILL SELF right now. I will always know it was the right move.

Will the actions of Alexander's parents get KU a 2016 postseason ban?
I would recruit over Greene, and try and convince Selden to go pro.

Oubre is probably gone which is ok.

Cliff is going to end up Lenny Cooke which is sad but I don't think there's any way out of it.

PG: Mason/ Graham
SG: ???
SF: ???
PF: Ellis
PF: Lucas?

I don't know who else I'm bothering with if I'm Self. If you're not going to play Mickelson then what's the point?

Bragg is coming in so maybe he's something.

The bolded part is exactly how i felt. Just keep the streak going, it's all I wanted and I consider it a success.

Kentucky went to an NIT two years ago and saved an awful regular season by going on a hell of a tourney run last year...

UNC hasn't been a powerhouse in a few years and haven't been a top 3 seed in a while...

Duke lost to Mercer last year.

The amazing parity and lack of MATURE COLLEGE SUPERSTARS is going to mean a lot of big programs are going to have more and more and more "upset" early tourney losses.

This Wichita State team has been a team and have grown together for years. Hell, Vegas didn't even consider this an upset.

The tourney is wide open for more teams than ever every single year.

If you think getting trashed by 15 to Wichititty is something the fan base should hold a welcome home pep rally for, knock yourself out. But the reality is he didn't make many friends with a lot of us the past few Marches. Calipari was so angry at that NIT he just started packing players bags.

Nobody is saying Fire Self so focus on what is being argued.

Selden hasn't seemed to give a shit for two years running. Takes entire games off regularly (including today). Biggest waste of NBA talent/size from a wing I'e seen in a while. I'm sure we'll keep running him out there next year hoping it all clicks, but it doesn't look like it ever will.

If public wasn't so naive WSU probably would've been favored by 5 today. It was a pick em. I bet Vegas made a killing on that line

Not that it matters, but I'd say last year was ever so slightly easier due to Embiid's injury.... OTOH, beating Notre Dame really wouldn't have done much for me and then they obviously wouldn't have gotten their shit pushed in by Kentucky.... so, pretty meh either way.

Yep, I wasn't sure they'd even manage to do that with 2 weeks left. Luckily, they grinded out a few wins at the end to do it.

Hoping the expectations are different next year, but the leaders on the team are going to be exactly the same.

Not for me. Losing Embiid at the end left a sense of regret about what could have been had he been healthy. He was such a great impact player and came up large in big games as well.

That regret doesn't really exist this year as this team was never going anywhere anyway. Might have something to do with being in UK's region too, though.
